History Made in KC

This Just In....jpg

The 2009 PDGA World Championships added several stories to our disc golf history book this past week.

Kansas City, MO brought the largest competitor field for a World Championship (922), youngest (age 7)/oldest (age 81) competitors to compete in a World Championship, first time brother/sister Open sweep in a World Championship, second time ever for a sudden death playoff in Open in a World Championship, largest Women’s field in a World Championship (100), largest Amateur field in a World Championship (595).

We are honored to announce yet another historic mark made on this year’s Worlds. Two actually. Gabriella Gray, your 2009 Junior Girls < 13 World Champion, broke a World Distance Record while in Kansas City. In the category Girls (10 and younger), she is clocked in at 84.36 m beating former record holder, Rebecca Cox, by 9.21 m. Also making a NEW entry into the record books is Olive Bolander, our oldest competitor mentioned above, sets the mark at 36.72 m in the distance category Women (80 and older). Congratulations to you both!

Do you have what it takes to be a World Record holder? Several records haven’t been broken in quite some time. Will you be the next?
