For over a decade, the great minds behind the Educational Disc Golf Experience (EDGE) have been working tirelessly to help grow the sport of disc golf, offering their unique school-based curriculum to effectively teach the basic skills of the sport to youth of all ages. What is EDGE?

The Educational Disc Golf Experience is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization whose entire premise is to perpetuate the great lifetime activity that is disc golf. The EDGE packages feature 3rd -12th grade classroom-linked teaching curriculum and an instructional DVD, as well as age-appropriate equipment.

EDGE follows the National Association of Sport and Physical Education’s national standards and combines teaching the fundamentals of the sport with the educational objectives of science, civics, and the environment. Last but not least, EDGE strives to get kids involved in the battle against childhood obesity. After all, one of the most valuable life lessons that disc golf brings to the table is simply getting off the couch and going outside!

The EDGE program begins with basic lessons, teaching fundamental throwing skills, course play, and initial discussions of rules and courtesy. More advanced lessons delve into the science of disc flight, the mathematics of scoring, handicapping, statistics, environmental concerns, and civic responsibility as a player. The final phase ideally entails a competitive club disc golf league between area schools.

The PDGA endorses EDGE as a viable way to introduce the sport to youth involved in school, clubs, scouts, church groups, and everything in between.

EDGE Holiday Fundraiser Items

A number of companies that support the EDGE program throughout the year have come together to create an easy way for you to support EDGE this holiday season.
