St. Louis, Missouri to host a 2012 National Collegiate Disc Golf Championship Qualifier March 3 – 4

The St. Louis Disc Golf Club, the River City Flyers and Lindenwood University, are proud to announce St. Louis’s first inaugural collegiate disc golf event. This event is a National Collegiate Disc Golf Championship Qualifier and the highest placing team that does not already have a bid to Nationals will receive one. The state of Missouri will have a unique opportunity to send its first collegiate disc golf team to the National Championships this spring in North Augusta, South Carolina.

The tournament will be held the weekend of March 3rd & 4th at Jefferson Barracks and Endicott County Parks. Collegiate teams will also have the option of participating in a 9-hole event INSIDE A CAVE near Festus, Missouri the Friday before the tournament starts.

Each collegiate team will be composed of four players. Players must follow the national collegiate disc golf eligibility rules stated at http://www.ncdgc.com/eligibility.htm. Tournament format will follow a combination of singles and doubles play. Rankings will be determined by total cumulative scores for both days. Top placing teams will receive supporting funds for their trip to the National Championships.

Top ranked teams #2 Purdue and #3 Arkansas have already confirmed their attendance for this collegiate disc golf event. Due to St. Louis’s central location this event will likely draw the attention of collegiate disc golf teams from across the country. We hope to fill the tournament to full capacity at 18 teams. Entry fee per team is $120. Registration ends February 22nd.Don’t wait to sign up!
