Registration opens April 1st for the 2015 Disc Golf Hall Of Fame Classic

Tuesday, March 31, 2015 - 12:45

April 1st might be a day of pranks and mischief for some, but for those looking to make a name for themselves in the world of professional-level disc golf, the day has a more significant meaning. Starting at 12:00pm EDT on April 1st, registration for the 2015 Disc Golf Hall Of Fame Classic (HOFC) opens. The HOFC is the final and most important leg of the 2015 PDGA National Tour Elite Series, and series ending awards and bonuses will be awarded.

The 2015 PDGA National Tour consist of seven events held across the country starting with The Memorial Championship that took place just over a month ago in Arizona and ending with the HOFC in Appling, GA on September 11th, 12th, and 13th.

Points are awarded based on a competitor’s order of finish in an individual event per the table on the National Tour information page. Series points from a player’s top five National Tour finishes from the first six events, plus the points from the Hall of Fame Classic will determine the 2015 PDGA Tour Series Champion. This system helps erase the damage caused by an event when a player finished poorly, or simply could not attend.

The very first HOFC took place in May of 2003 on the inaugural National Tour and has since been a biennial event that takes place at the one and only International Disc Golf Center (IDGC), the premier destination for disc golfers worldwide. The IDGC is now home to three world-class 18-hole courses, the Disc Golf Hall Of Fame, the “Steady” Ed Disc Golf Memorial Museum, a fully-stocked pro shop, and more. This event celebrates and honors the members of the Disc Golf Hall Of Fame, with a special VIP area for its members and options for early registration as well.

The HOFC is concurrently run as a National Tour event and an A-tier event. The National Tour side is for the Open and Open Women divisions only. The A-tier side will consist of age-protected professional and advanced amateur divisions only.

Tiered registration opens April 1st at 12:00pm EDT on DiscGolfScene.com for anyone meeting the criteria below.

  • All current members with a rating of 1000 or higher.
  • All women registering for the Open Women’s division.
  • All Disc Golf Hall of Fame members.

One week later on April 8th at 12:00pm EDT, all current PDGA members will be able to register for the event and/or the event’s waitlist if and when it becomes fully booked.
