I was at the Ozark tourney in '01 I think. I was with Brad but don't remember what holes we camped in between. Brad came out 2 years in a row. I was in on the first trip. As far as coming back, that was one hell of a long ride but I'd do it again. Those courses are some of my favorite anywhere, right up there with Winthrop. When I heard they were gone I was kinda surprised but I do remember you saying something about them being temporary and that Grandad could pull the plug at any time. If it happens, let me know through here. I'd absolutely love to play those again. Would you still do the $300 Gateway ace again? I got more of your plastic in my bag now so I'd have a better chance at it.

I've noticed that everyone replaces a worn out (insert brand name here) bag with a Rev. However, I don't notice anyone saying that they have replaced a worn out Rev. bag with anything else. I know a guy who has had an original Rev. bag FOREVER. No rips, no busted zippers, still a great bag. I have a club bag and it's great.

A bag isn't cheaper if you have to replace it.
Choose your Rev bag carefully because you won't have to replace it. |

The last three post were PERFECT reasons why to buy a Rev bag.
This entire thread can be deleted and all you need is those three posts

OK I might be wrong but judging from the profiles of everyone on here so far Anita, Dave, and myself are the only ones here who have been playing long enough to wear out a disc bag at all. If you have been playing for 2 or 3 years and have already worn your bag out you bought the wrong bag. I do know of one company's disc bag that will wear out that quickly usually around the zipper on the pocket (everyone that I usually play with that has one of these are experiencing the same failure) but it's neither a Gateway or a Revo bag so I'm not going to mention the company.
I definitely think everyone should do everything the pimp recommends tho. I mean he's a walking commercial, can throw 550 ft, and will be happy to tell you all about it anytime. You don't even have to ask. |

Best of both worlds
I recently got a Revolution bag and love it! I also have a backpack bag that I have been using since 01. I would suggest you try them out/on b4 buying. I'm a big guy so the backpack bag rides a little high on my back for my liking. I do however use it to carry extra discs, towels, rain geer, shoes and anything I could possible need for a weekend. I also have a tour bag that has been to hell and back and held up nicely. Things I like about the revolution: mombo zippers, rain flap, zipper flap and padded back. Things I like about the tour bag: two water bottle holders, plenty of room and Dave listens to the feedback on the bags and upgrades the bags often. Take a good look at both of them and decide what matches your needs best. One thing I learned about both companies is they stand behind the product. Talk nice to Dave Mac and he's good about adding a little something extra! |

Tree Klunker, if you have back problems and are not getting a cart, definitely stick with Quadshoks whatever you do. I would not suggest the Gateway backpack. I have never seen a backpack sit correctly. It always looks like a little lean backwards and everything is coming out. I think this will put undue stress on your back. At least with the Quadshoks, you can adjust them to your liking. And the "Shok" part of the straps might just be the best thing for your back.

just got a Carolina Bag the other day. love it. the frame makes it so easy to get discs in and out of the bag. also the putter pocket holds 2 discs perfectly. that was one of my biggest complaints with my old Innova Tour bag was that it warped my 2 putters because the bottom came in so there was only room for one discs at the bottom. the carolina bag the putter pocket holds my 2 putters perfectly and you can get them both out easily.
my only complaint with both bags is the lack of smaller zippered pockets inside the 2 big end pockets. : ) :

Anyone use the Revolution Club Bag?
It looks very similar to the Team Bag but cheaper, any reviews? Cheers, Matt

I've had the Revolution Club bag since late Sept. and love it. I can carry 2 Rhyno's in the front putter pocket, 6 drivers, 7 midrange and putters in the main compartment with room for more, and in the side zipper pockets I carry 3 extra discs, driver, midrange, putter, and use the other side for misc. junk. The water bottle holder is nice but I rarely use it, instead I use the large outer pocket for my Nalgene.
All and all I'm really pleased with it, now I just need to get QuadShocks to get rid of the annoying squek of the strap it came with.

I have a Gateway Tour bag and like it quite a bit. It HAS torn in one spot but I still love it. Id like a Revolution bag of some sort but I cant justify spending that much for a bag at the moment, maybe after the holidays...

Love my club bag. Had it since early-summer and it has held up real well (play 4-5 rounds a week on avg). I've flown with it too and had no issues. My only beef with it is the water bottle holder only holds my Nalgene brand nalgene bottle, the Eddie Bauer brand ones from target don't fit. Plus a 32oz gatorade bottle won't fit, though the special tall powerade bottles they had for the olympics fit perfectly. However, I have a hard time justifying spending an extra $40-$50 just to fit a certain bottle size. As far as I'm concerned that is the only drawback between the Club and Team bags. Now durability down the road remains to be seen, but I'm not too worried.

Hey-
We do have a brand new REVOLUTION Bag that sits between the CLUB and TEAM Bags. Called the PRO Bag, it features a main body of 1000d Corudra, side pockets of 500D Cordura and a 12oz truck vinyl bottom. Same features as the CLUB Bag with the additon of an insulated 32oz bottle holder to accommodate those large bottomed Gatorade or Nalgene bottles. The PRO also has a wider shoulder strap featuring the same no-slip grippy material as the TEAM shoulder strap. Price for the PRO Bag is $80 and it comes in four color combinations: Black, Charcoal/Black, Red/Black, and Lake Blue/Black. Should be a great alternative for someone who wants a super-durable lower cost disc golf bag with an internal frame. They are in stock and can be ordered now through our online shopping cart. Should have pictures in the catalog portion of the site in the next couple hours. Thanks, -Dave |

I want the upgrade, If only the ordering difficulties would have lasted a little longer It did work out in the end just was a bit of a hassel with the color I wanted being out of stock and then when it came in stock my order being skipped over, but Dave got it sent to WI in no time once the problem was figured out. Thanks Dave.
I do wish my Club bag was a thicker material and had the truck vinyl. But I do love my bag, I can't justify A new one for quite some time though and from what everyone says its going to be a long time before it wears out. ![]() I can't wait to see the new bag on the site. I'd be willing to test drive it over the winter and see how it fairs in the Wisconsin Tundra

During events and slow play I like to use a stool between shots but I hate carrying one around and I'm always leaving it behind. I heard about the FLW fishing stool from another thread, got one for $16, and I really like it. It'll carry 10-12 discs & its got a separate front pocket for a putter. It has a mesh holder for a small water bottle and is very lightweight. No room for much else but how often do you use all extra crap anyway. Be the envy of your group...go FLW.

I recommend the Rev' Carolina bag as well. I live in Vermont, and we have A LOT of snow right now so I am only carrying my Innova small bag since carrying a big bag over the snow and ice can get old.

I just got a revolution Carolina bag for my birthday and love it. The only complaint I have about it is the drink holders. I would like to see the bottom of the drink holder solid instead of a single 1" strop of fabric. My 20oz water bottles and soda cans fall out the bottom!

I have the same problem but it is well worth the trouble. I just had to start buying bigger drinks until I bought a nalgene bottle. My bag is about a year and a half old and it still doesn't have a loose thread on it after plenty of use. I'm sure somebody will jump on here and top that cause I have heard people say there's is five years old and it still looked in good shape.

You can stuff a towel in there and nothing will fall out. I would also recomend (sp?) using a coozy for any drink ( gatorade h2o Barley water) the older and cheaper the better(the coozy not the barley water) So glad I have 2 drink holders as I like to drink a lot on the course. TEAM CAROLINA!!!!!!! BTW the opening at the bottom of your drink holder has a pupose, excess suds just drip to mother earth UGGHH!
