Default The Battle of Stoney Hill (October 7)

Once again, the Sauls family invites disc golfers to come play in our yard on the Sunday after the USDGC, and help us support the American Heart Association.

It's one-day, Sunday-only, so you can join the gallery on the Winthrop Gold course, get your disc golf juices flowing, and still play a tournament that weekend. If you're lucky enough to be playing in the USDGC, cap off your week with two rounds at Stoney Hill.

Details and flyer to come, but until then you can find out more at

Default The Children's Heart Foundation Charity

Our Charity has changed and all proceeds will be donated to The Children's Heart Foundation. You can visit their website for more information at www.childrensheartfoundation.org. We will still accept donations for the American Heart Association for those who would like to donate to this great organization. Just let us know.

Progressive Insurance Company has donated some great items for CTP's and for our raffle.

We'll be playing both layouts in The Battle this year. (It was uncertain at the time of the flyer).

First round will be the "kinder & gentler" Quartz layout. It debuted last April; for those who haven't played it, it's 18 holes and only 5310'. We'll then convert the course to the somewhat more grueling 7310' Diamond layout for the second round. So our guests will get a chance to play everything.

We certainly encourage everyone who can to pre-register, for the sake of the TDs' wits and ability to get things going promptly on Sunday morning. Last year's last-minute rush was wonderful and we were delighted to see everyone....but we'd be just as delighted without the surprise.

Weather forecast: 79 degrees, sunny, 0% chance of rain.

Of course, we can't put any faith in a forecast 7 days out.

On the other hand, we've never had rain at an event at Stoney Hill, so we'll be trying our best to keep that streak alive.

Remind me again what holes we don't play in Quartz that we used to. 14B and 15? Paul says quartz layout is 21 holes but I guess that's considering the one I know plus the new 15B? Hopefully I can find a 48 on it this time and break another course record but gonna be tough to beat what I accomplished last time.

On the Quartz layout, you do not play holes 6,7, & 8. You play 18 holes and I believe the course record is 49.
