Wow that trailer is amazing. I saw in their it looked like they had a lighted skills competition. Where was that at? What where the skills? What a great way to promote the sport ... skills competitions are awesome!

ppl have been asking this question for a few years now. They say they want to get it right. The trailer has footage from when Nate Doss won world in 2005, if that gives you some reference to how long people have been waiting on this one. It looks awesome, and I hope it doesn't die, I've just stopped anxiously waiting for news about its release.

Hey C'mon now it has only been like 6-7 months since they posted the trailer and I think you have this confused with another video.

really, check out their myspace page. They posted a trailer in jan 07, so that's at least 18 months of production. It's just funny to me, because most of the comments on their page is "got a release date yet??".

I can't wait either, it looks really cool, everyone who sees the trailer wants to know when it's gonna come out. I know I saw one over a year ago and was hoping to it'd be out in theaters by now or out on dvd. as long as it's a good as the trailers make it out to be, I can wait as long as it takes for them to get it rt.

Winter 2006. Its been a while. The main problem is a blessing: they got ahold of HD cameras and decide to redo things making use of them (this from the mouth of Nate Doss when I talked to him in Rock Hill last October).

This donation to the goal of $30,000 is just a very small portion of the Overall Budget of this Film over the last 6 years of filming, production and editing, it's well beyond $100,000 at this point in the game. But this last fundraising effort is to build enough funds to purchase Copyrighted Music at the cost of $3,000-6,000 a song (not cheap). With the rest of the funds going toward the production and organization of Nationwide Film Screenings for the next 4 months.

The Chains Disc Golf Documentary has been modified several times since the World's Screening and is constantly changing to align a more concise story line. The Chains will consist of a Trilogy will feature a set of 3 Movies - Disc Golf History, The Nate Doss Story and the Chains Doc that will feature a mix of all of that plus a lot more Music/Disc Golf Videos & Live of the Touring Professional Disc Golfer. The current running time that we are trying for is around 1:45 - 1:55 but not more than 2 hours in length. The Worlds Cut was a lot longer than expected and contained more local flavor with NorCal Players & the Tom Schot piece.

There are a few Music Clips included in the Movie already produced by Disc Golfers but you are welcome to submit more for future films. Derek Hastings has enough Disc Golf footage to make 6 Movies at this point and has future plans to make others but due to time constraints with other Video Projects (World's & Vibram DVD's) it has taken longer than expected to make the 1st one. This has been a passion for him for 6 years and it has taken that long to produce the film because it has a been a side-project for that long as well because as you can imagine it doesn't pay the bills. He has had to resort to working many NFL Network side jobs in that time just to make it happen. But he is by far the Best Video/Film Talent that we have in Disc Golf at this point and we'll all be grateful when these films finally release but it's a lot of work and takes a lot of time to do so.

We appreciate your support/future support in this film!!! Please spare what you can to contribute to an incredible film venture that has a great chance to show the World the Sport of Disc Golf!!!

Sounds like it would be a lot cheaper to create your own music and/or use local talent to donate their time, energy, and creativeness. What about using Icky's Ego? I'm sure you could get Philo for less $$$.

How can we get the movie screened in our area? Let me show it on our university campus and charge $10/head to view it, in an auditorium that has 150 seats. Our local club has 350 members and we have a regular player base of thousands, so I think we could fill the place, given some lead time for promotion. After expenses, you've raised $1,000.

Repeat 30 times in other cities.

A lot of "Free" Music has been used for the Documentary already but we want to buy some Copy Righted Music as well but the $30,000 will be used to purchased copyrighted music to be used in the Film (ex. - Rage Against The Machine - "Guerrilla Radio") and other such technical necessities to make this film just that much better!!!

A lot of money has been put out at this point to produce the edited cut for screenings, but making Movies/Documentaries is definitely not cheap.
