Told by Russ that there is a really good chance the lake course will be used.
Can't wait to spend part of memorial weekend with a lot of great people.

This is a Copy/Paste from the Joplin thread concerning Disc Golfers that are affected by the recent tornado disaster:
Disc Golfers, We've received some news that one of our own, Uriah Johnson, is at a Springfield hospital in serious condition. He has swelling on his brain and internal bleeding. Right now, that is all we know on his condition but the update was from this morning. Please keep Uriah in your thoughts and prayers. Others that have have had their house destroyed or at least damaged include Pat Wooley, The Davison Family (Michael and Isaac), and Zack Jones. Please let us know if there are any other disc golfers that will need help and assistance. Finally, don't forget about the Disc Golf Monkey's raffle this Saturday at the Lake Bella Vista Open, where the money raised will go to help the area disc golfers who were affected by the tornado. If you are unable to attend but would like to make a donation to your fellow disc golfers, contact the Disc Golf Monkey, information is on his website at www.discgolfmonkey.com, contact the club, or paypal money to officers@joplindgc.com. Please keep all those affected in your thoughts and prayers as we all come together as a disc golf community. JDGC Officers |

Thank you for the opportunity to play one of the nicest courses in Arkansas. That is one special piece of land. I would like to thank all that were involved with getting that course in the gorund. VERY NICE! It was so nice, I would have driven back over there Sunday if someone wanted to play it again. While I would rate it at about 70-40 in favor of the right handed player, breing a lefty I would jump at the chance to play it again.
As for the tournament, I know they had to scramble to get it all moved to the new course and get it set up, which I'm sure was a mind boggleing experience. How ever the Mando on hole 4 was not marked, when it was marked it was totaly unacceptable. On the side of a hill with trees in front and a pile of brush. All they had to do was move it 8 feet to the right and it would have been fair for all. The biggest complaint of the day, was NO water on the course. Yes, they had water jugs filled and out for the first round but they were empty before the round was over and NEVER filled up for the second round. No drinkable water on the entire course for the second round but both TD's had time to play. Not good. They said they had enough volunteers but obviously that was not the case. All in all a great course, I'd give it an A+, even without tee pads, as for the tournament, just a C. (this only because of the little things, but this is what the players remember, especially if they were looking for something to drink.) And all of this could be just due to the fact of the last minute change. We'll see how nest year goes. I am looking forward to next year's event, but please have it at JB Hunt instead of Bella, or at least give us one round out there. PLEASE!!!!!! Or just start the annual JB Hunt event!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

Ditto what Dave said. Water would have been nice as I drank both bottles I took in the first few holes.
Hole 10, the thorny brush pile in the middle of the hill needs to be marked OB. There is zero chance of getting your hand in past 6 inches much less if you are in the middle. I have the scars to prove it. My only other comment has to do with my personal scorecard. After all of us checking over and over, mine was off by a stroke. I should have tied Roger but I thought I won by 1 stroke. Whenever someone thinks they are in the payout but are dropped due to a scoring error, that player should be told as soon as possible. Kyle read Bruce's name but never announced the 2nd place. When I asked I was first told that the printer ran out of ink. Then suddenly Kyle came up and showed me the error. I guess I wouldn't have been told at all had I not asked. Again, the error was totally my fault, I just thought I should have been told when it was discovered. The awards, ring of fire and raffle did take awhile. I left the course at 7:45. All in all a great tournament, for an incredibly great cause on a great course.. I will return, with calculator in hand!!!
