The students at Southwestern Univ. will make this mini a success, not pdga or club golfers. Most of us can only get to play once a week and that is usually Wednesdays. Get signs on the course and at the school. They have a bulletin board there you can post a flyer on. Maybe once the golfers who lurk here see that these students are coming out and getting paid they to will make the trek to GT. Just some thoughts, we never had big turnouts years ago when a mini was ran there by the locals except for the students.

I think it is fine. If people want to play they can show up if they don't have the time then no big deal. I am not in it for the money, I just enjoy playing golf with other club members. Most of the members seem to be better players that can teach me a lot. I never expected more than about 10 people to show up. I just think people take it way to serious, and they forget why they started playing in the first place (to get away from work and have fun with your friends). If you win a couple of bucks in the mean time then that is just a bonus. Next time I am going to just charge 5 bucks, 1 for the club and 4 for the ace pot. No bonus or payout. Maybe then people will just come out and have fun.

I am going to make san gabe a ace race after we finish up this series. I will make all the holes aceable. I think that will be better for everyone, because you will not be competing with anyone except for yourself.

I guess when the entry ends up being $100 for 10 weeks to play in the league. it takes away some of the FUN... maybe we can look at how waterloo does their thursday summer league play?? one time entry of $25 then keep top 5 of 10 scores!!! Not sure,,, just looking for ideas to get more folks to come out and play... not trying to start crap either so dont go there!!! I have heard more then 1 person say $10 is too much..

so lets see
sunday =$10
tuesday =$10
weds = $5
thursday =$8
free play on friday and sat. YEA

hi abel
you don't need to tweek this mini because your never going to make every one happy. the only way we'd all be happy is drunk on a tropical beach and thats not even guaranteed. it's fine the way it is.

Come on guys. Can't we all just get along LOL. I'm not trying to get everyone all stirred up so why don't we just let it lye. Next tuesday I want everyone there and before we tee off we are going to have a big group hug(shirts on). I never wanted to **** anyone off, I was just trying to get something going on a day that I would be able to play.

The reason I don't make tuesday's is due to the cost of the mini 10.00........being on a tight budget I can make a few but with playing tuesday and wednesday thats 15.00 bucks per week and 60.00 a month just to play twice a week..........if people would start building homes again and the economy came back, then it would be no-problem other than the 2-hangovers instead of the normal 1 per week......not to mention the dollars spent on CFO's for twice a week...........I know I know......why do I have to drink when I play??? Cause I can & I like it...........but will try and make a few more cause it was fun and still have not played the revamped San Gabriel course yet.......LK say's its fun.............

I never have gotten why people do that. Enlighten me to the reasons, inquiring minds want to know.

'bump' as in, bump this topic to the top, as a means to get that other non DoubleR crap below the topics we spend the majority of our time on.
