I know my hubby is going (Mark Nolan). He's rounding up as many other Athens guys as he can too. Unfortunately for me, I had to choose between PPO and TWC this year, as the Paul Giles is the weekend between the two. I do, however LOVE Pioneer and think Pecan Park is pretty fun as well...Maybe next year I will get to play. Good luck to everyone who goes out there to play and the best of weather for the tourney! Hope you guys and gals can come out to Athens the weekend before your tourney for the Giles

Default Pecan Park Open

I think we're going to have a blast this year. We've got new formats for both courses, looks like we're going to have $1000 added to the pro purse, and if someone can break the -16 record for doubles, I'll pitch $100 a piece for the winners.

Also check out our new object (hopefully to be real baskets soon) out at Lake Nac. Fun and challenging!

Anyone have any questions or just info you want to know, let me know.

People are asking about hotels. We're still trying to work out group rates, but right now Motel 6 is offering rooms at $44.99. It just got remodeled and has opened in the last month. By the end of the week, I'll know if we got anything better.

Barring some last minute logistical problems. Open will start and end at Pioneer, where the headquarters is going to be. With a slightly modified layout, there should be some pretty low scores (or at least opportunities) that final round.

Went up to 49.49 today

Would love to hear about a host hotel as soon as you know. Thanks!

Ok, unfortunately because of college graduation (not the same weekend) hotels are not giving us any deals. However I'm still getting confirmation from Motel 6 that they are honoring their $44.99 deal if you book online. I recommend those that can splitting with a friend. $25 a night is pretty decent.

Everything else is $65 and up (America's Best Value, Econo Lodge, Days Inn - in order of increasing price.

Anybody camped at Tonkawa Springs that has anything to say about it?

Sorry to post heavy, but what Pros are coming this year? Is Brad coming back to defend his title? What about JD, does he have what it takes to regain the throne?

Any am's want to say they're coming to drop some low scores, feel free to chime in. I know I was 3rd Adv. last year, and I'm hungry for number 1.

let's hear it.

Tyler guys better watch out. Nac golf is boomin'! Did you see our mini turnouts lately? Check out naccrushers.com to see what's going on.

Btw, dubs is going to be at Pioneer this year (flex start 2:00-5:30) on Fri. Also, six hole skins for top four scores and raffled off partners for extra $$$cash$$$!

oh yeah, remind me again? :P

let's see, tyler takes Rec, in a tie for first, going to a playoff, with a nac guy.
then..... Int goes to Nacogdoches (top 4 players were all from Nac), Advanced goes to a Nac player.

true, Adv Masters and Pro Masters were won by tylers guys (Lawrence and Jerry, two great guys), but Nac had no one in those divisions (except for one am grandmaster who had to play in adv masters).

yup....

and I don't know if it's been said in the thread already, but we will be having a skins round again after the 4th round. This is for the top 4 scores (regardless of division, last year we had the Advanced winner tied with the 4th place MPO, so we actually had 5 qualifiers). These players will be paired up with raffle winners. The raffle money goes to the pot for skins, and it is alternate shot doubles. It makes for fun theatre, as a Pro will rip a nice drive, and it's up to the raffle winner to hit a pressure putt in front of the gallery!

I think we will be doing $50 minimum per skin again, so that's another $300 minimum that will be up for grabs, on top of the usual $1000 added to the pro purse like we always do (we don't make any money on this tourney, believe me, we'd rather take a little hit if it means we get to see good players, good times had by all, and smiling faces when people leave).

If there's anything we can help with in the coming week and a half, or any suggestion you would like to make, please let us know!

We look forward to another great year!
