World Rankings - Yearend 2009 posted

The PDGA World Rankings for Yearend 2009 have been posted here: http://www.pdga.com/WorldRankings

The Yearend Rankings use a slightly different process than the World Rankings throughout the year. Only events played during 2009 are included which means the 2008 Players Cup and 2008 Japan Open results are not included. In addition, the later the date an event was played during 2009 does not earn additional weight in the calculation like it does during other WR updates during the year.

Despite the slightly different calculations, Josh Anthon and Valarie Jenkins maintained their top spots followed by Nikko Locastro and Des Reading, respectively. The full WR lists for men and women also includes the top rated players in each country. By the end of 2009, 28 countries had male players and 16 had female players.

For 2010, the Memorial NT will not be specifically included in the WR calculations. We are replacing it with a factor based on a player's best two finishes in an NT or ET during the past 12 months. More on how this will work when the first WR that involves 2010 events is posted around the first of April which will include the March ratings update just after the Memorial.
