The Women Throwing Frisbees are starting their FUNdraising early for USWDGC. Our goal is to raise enough money to pay for all our entry fees to USWDGC a PDGA major September 16-18 2011 in Round Rock, TX. The 1st leg of FUNdraising starts this weekend at Deaf Nationals May 27-29 - right here in Austin, TX. We'll be selling limited edition (only 25 printed) WTF signing shirts - John Gold logo - and having a raffle.

That's where I need your help. Remember that box of discs you've got in the closet that you thought were so cool, but you'll never throw? The players pack items you've never even looked at? That gift your brother-in-law gave you that you'll never use? That gift card to the place you never shop? That's what I need from you - stuff that's cool, but just taking up space in your life. The WTF will happily take these donations & turn them into raffle prizes for this weekend. Anything you can donate will be spectacular.

I'll be @ the Wednesday Round Rock mini - if you can bring donations there SUPER (5:00 start). If not, lemme know & I'll arrange for you to meet with a WTF member in you area or you can mail directly to me @ 3232 Winding Way Round Rock,TX 78664. I'm south Tuesday & Thursday during the day this week too near WestGate & Western Trails if you wanna get together south. Thanx for the continued support of ladies disc golf in Texas -you ROCK!!!

See you in the fairway,

Lala

Went out to meet Kennie about USWDGC HQ set up @ OSP & today is city employee day - parking on hole 6. Should be done before we get there, but someone may wanna check it out on the way in so we know for sure.

Thanx to everyone for helping out with the WTF raffle stuff for this weekend!!! There are 100 players (10 Women) playing @ Deaf Nationals. Pretty cool & not just a big Texas event, players really coming from all over the US.

Just reported to parks dept. They were not aware of the missing basket. They had a lot of vandalism at the park this weekend. They stole a sink out of the bathroom and destroyed the soap dispensers. They also kicked over the t-sign frame for #15. If anyone has seen anything related to these crimes please let me or Kinney know.

sounds like a good/easy thing to go from 12 tee to 14 basket, that should work well w/minimal interruption or confusion.

"real men steal baskets and kick over signs". NOT.

I don't know about the rest of y'all but the putting on my card yesterday was atrocious. Scores?

Also i personally thought throwing from 12 box to 14 basket sucked. Perhaps a temp teebox for that next week, 50-75' over to the right of 12's box?

yea what he said.. I say we play 12 to 15's basket then I would have gotten the bird. also we need the paint stick and some paint so we can mark the right side of C hole and 4's OB to the street. still see people playing from the tall grass on the right side by C's basket.

I have the paint sitick and will try to get out to the park before next Wednesday to mark it. What are the chances of going back to random draw nistead of pro-am? It seems that there is hardly even numbers for there to be the correct mix of pro-am teams.

Our card thought 12-14 was fine. Carroll parked it - not dumber than regular 12.

Agree with Edman the Pro Am sux - 2 of the 3 weeks I've played there's been a mix up with the cards and there's either been a re-draw or tons of confusion & there's like 3 people that are real Pro players. Maybe if we changed the name to "I think I'm gonna shoot lights out/I think I'm still gonna blow by 30 feet on my putts doubles" it would seem better defined.

I disagree with can we go back to random draw - is doubles really all people are telling the cabinet they want to play (other than me & Vinnie)? I get that it's hot & the course is big, but there's got to be something better than doubles 2-3 times a week.

Wednesday ACE POT moves to $300....

The cabinet has voted to increase the Wednesday Ace pot by $50 increaments.

The plan is to always maintain a $250 backup Ace Pot - as the Backup increases by $50 - this will roll into the current Ace Pot.

Next Wednesday will have $300 ace pot w/ a $279 backup - if we get 21 player on the 8th - the Ace Pot on the 15th will go to $350 w/ a $250 backup...

It's time to hit big money...

I’ve been working with the cabinet and the parks dept. on the stolen basket for getting it replaced. The Parks dept. accidently ordered a discatcher (yellow band) instead of a Mach3 which is throughout the course. In order to keep consistent with the course Kinney has asked if we can put the new basket at A hole and put the A hole basket at hole 12. That way the regular 18 holes are the same and the a, b, and c holes will be the same. We will get some help from the Parks dept. at removing the snapped off pole and concrete on hole 12 tomorrow. The plan is to meet at A hole about 3:30 and remove it and re-plant it at hole 12 before the mini. The Parks dept is supplying the concrete and if the basket shows up in time they will re-plant it at A hole. So we need some volunteers to come out and help with this. JD will be leading it up I talked with him earlier. JohnE if you could send a text out that would be great.
