I've replaced my putters with the VP(B)s and have a VP(A) for short drives and approaches in the bag.

Have any of you guys totally replaced your normal putter line up with these?
I have pretty much followed the directions of the trial and replaced the putters in my bag with these. I was carrying 2 SSS Wizards (1 for putting and 1 for short drives) and now have two VPs. (B for putting and an A for short drives). The only thing that I may have changed is that I may use a beat pro-D Buzzz for some up-shots where I would have thrown a Wizard in the past. I can't quite talk myself into using a VP for the shot right now. So for right now they have totally replaced my Wizards. I could possible see going back to a Wizard for those up-shots but may not because I have the Buzzz in my bag any ways and there is no need to have two discs that for the same purpose.

I wish I had more time on the course with them is my only complaint right now.

I was killing some 30-45 fts. at weekly doubles tonight. When you putt them flat they get from point A to point B really quick.

Default Five Finger Shoes

If you looking for someone to test out those five fingers kto's on some disc golf courses let me know. Those things look like they could be great with all the tough terrain we play on and the weather conditions we play through.

Default Love the VP

Steve Godge,

Thanks for including me in your test.

I told you that a "warm weather" tester was needed.

Thanks for all of the great feedback. The Summit mold should be ready in the next few weeks and if they are happy with the way that it flies (hopefully a nice complement to the VP), it will be ready for field testing in the next month or so.

Are the Summits going to ran in the same plastics and flexes as the VP's or are you going to have some new blends?

We will be working on some new blends. We are going to try to work out a much stiffer blend as well as either the A or B blend. Probably 70%+ of the responses we got said they liked the B (stiffer) blend and/or would like a blend even stiffer. We're going to see what we can do to make that a reality.

Default Vibram Five Finger KSO's

I have about 15 rounds under my belt on these. Picked them up about 4 weeks ago, and they are great. I really didn't get them for disc golf because I like my Solomon’s, but I thought what the heck. I 1st thought I would be twisting my ankles and the soles or uppers would tear right through, but they are holding up great. I've played rocky, wooded, and grassy courses with them and no troubles. I'll be playing 7 courses in the Charlotte and surrounding areas this monday and tuesday and see how they hold up to some real abuse. I'll probably get another pair while I'm in Charlotte thinking about the Flows. I have been wearing my KSO's everywhere (work, grocery shopping, out to eat, ect) I love them. I can't stand wearing shoes anymore they are just to constricting.

The most recent Summit mold should be completed by the end of next week. Aaron is tweaking the rubber blends and if we are happy with how they fly, we may have some ready to ship to testers in the next few weeks.

Most of the VP testers will remain on. We will also be looking for some new testers to fill out the geographic and ability demographics a bit better.

Will you just email all the prior testers and let them know if they will be testing the Summits as well?

I'll gladly donate my time again to help out the good cause.

Yes, that will be happening, along with a status report on where things stand.

Hey Steve!
Just wondering how things are going with the summit? Is Vibram impressed? I was also wondering if you've run any stiffer VP's yet? So far the VP meets 2 of the 3 criteria I look for in a putter. The VP is by far the most durable piece of plastic Ive ever seen. Ive played well over 100 rounds with my VP's and only one of them has a tiny nick on it where plastic is missing... other than that there still isnt even a mark on them. Secondly the VP has lived up to its stability, still as stable as the first day! The only other thing I look for in a putter is the firm/stiffness of the disc and in my opinion thats all the VP is lacking. IM LOVIN THESE THINGS! Cant wait for an update on the summit and VP.

Thank you Steve for puTTing the best puTTer in the world into my hands :-D

Red face

Per Aaron Ala (Vibram honcho) on the NEFA board:
Quote:
Steve and I were out testing the first pressings of the Summit today. First impression is that it is a prefect compliment to the V.P. If the V.P. was Mr. Hyde, the Summit is Dr. Jekyll or something like that. Holds a nice straight line, with a little bit of gas it hyzer flips beautifully, lots more float than the V.P. Taking the feeback from the last round of testing, we have a new X-link formula that we are running them out of. A little firmer and more grip out of the box.

The only bad news is that I will be in Europe next week so test samples wont be ready for a few weeks.

Stay Tuned...

Ditto on what VeganRay said Aaron said. The Summit is my kind of putter. The VP is my kind of putter off the tee. Stiffer is being tweaked. Look for us to be able to get tester samples out in a couple weeks (and don't quote me on that, maybe I should say a few weeks. - )

Also, I may be able to make an announcement one way or the other about a release date for the VP in the coming weeks too.

The first Summits in its first X-Link (which is a firmer version of the B material that the testers got) were run on Tuesday and were a tad heavy (176-177 grams). Aaron and the press fellas are working on a few tweaks and they believe we will be able to get the weight down to the legal 175g limit. We'll find out tomorrow.

No official word on a release date yet, but a hint would be that it is about a month and a half away (or at least that is the tentative plan).

Vibram discs will be within tolerance or they won't go out. The QC guy is pretty on the ball - and he seems to always be smiling (which I think is odd for QC guys).

If I did not say it before, the plan is to release the VP in two firmnesses and in three or four weight ranges (167-169, 170-172, 173-175, and 164-166 if we can get that low).

That will be right arond the time of a huge Event in MA. I think.

Maybe I can save you shipping costs if I'm still worthy enough to be a tester.
