Dave, i pulled an old 10x KC Cheetah out today and was surprised how well that baby performs.
My friend thought i should keep it in the bag.
Any chance whatsoever you could be talked into STAR Cheetahs?

hey Dave, i like to throw old XDs, was wondering if you could make some XDs in the soft avair-x plastic? thats the only plastic i can compare the older xd plastic with.

Luda
We have been running softer XDs lately. The older XDs have been stiffer, so I guess I don't understand what you are saying.
well i've had it for some time, and have hit so many trees its soft now
maybe what i mean is gripper

thanks Luda

Did any 150-class get molded?
Yes. They are being molded now.

I bought a Star wraith the other day, I was really enjoying it, nice glide and very dependable hyzer, i hit a tree 250 down the fairway fairly solid, didnt really think much of it, went to throw it on the next hole in a tail wind with hyzer release, the thing flipped up and turned ended up almost 120 off line right, I asked a few of my friends around town and they have noticed that the plastic is not very durable, Is there plans to change the plastic to increase durability? Have you heard other complaints about the Star durability?
I have heard no complaints at all. Are you sure you have a Star Wraith and not a Pro?

As far as I can remember, (being at home now), the SL run is done and included colors other than white.

A couple of questions. Can you order direct from Innova East?

No, unless you are a dealer.

Dave, is the roadrunner on the star list yet? I have recently decided that it is a better disc than the sidewinder (more consistant). It's kind of like a longer Leopard.
Yes, it's on the list, but down the line a bit.

The Cheetah used to be Ken C's favorite driver before he went to the TeeBird. Not much chance in the regular line, but always a special run chance.

I threw one today. More stable into the wind than my not so beat Star, it was about the same as a new Champion Starfire (X). Nice and stiff. Oh, I was throwing a 170g, all the rest of my drivers are 175. Into a headwind (l to r) I got it to fly 30 feet farther than my other drivers. Star, Pro Wraith, new and worn Starfire X, Star Sidewinder, Night Shift Orc.

It is a star, I have pro wraiths that have taken a lot more abuse than this star wraith did, and still hold a line, I am on the bandwagon with the (wraith is tempermental) line of thought, I have rolled my sb orc into a trash can from 50 feet hard enough to see the scuff on the can, and it still flies true. I am going to assume that this is a chareristic of the wraith and just keep buying the pro models that seem more durable and consistant.

Yeah, that's exactly what I'm talking about. Last summer I bought a stack of dx orcs and blew my personal distance records out of the water. Unfortunately, I was drawn into temptation and threw them alot, and made lots of tree contact. Hopefully sanity will remain in sight and I won't repeat the error.

**** I can't wait to get a few of those.

Default Japan Roc weights?

Hi Dave,
The new gummy Japan Rocs are very cool. I think some are just over 150g. How does it actually work in the Japan Open? Do they weigh the discs? Is it like 150 class and they allow a few grams over, or is it an honor system? I don't know if I'll ever get to play in the Japan Open, but I am curious.
Thanks,
Axis

No, they are not out yet, but very soon as they have been running for a couple of weeks.

They Japanese are very scrupulous. I believe they check every disc they get in Japan. They may also check the Japanese player's discs. They have not checked the American player's discs yet, but I wouldn't be surprised if they do in the future.

this is a good question, I have several discs that I took to a friend who has a digital scale ( ) almost all of them weighed a few grams more than they said one of my rocs weighed 191, that is a little heavier than the 176 it was factory marked with.

Default Ontario Rocs

Hi Dave,
How long were the Ontario rocs produced? A couple of years? Maybe 1995-1996? Surely not a very big window.
Thanks,

I emailed Zonedriven asking this same question. Response was they will contact us soon. They weren't sure of the release date, they're waiting on stamping. But, they're still shooting for March 1st.

There is no way that pro wraiths are more durable than star wraiths. Sorry. Maybe you got a defective disc.

true dat. My star wraith has taken some solid hits that put more than one pro wraith into early retirement. I was absolutely amazed by the durability of the star line!!! Don't let the grip fool you, this stuff is like the TuffSkins of disc golf!

All of those discs can be returned. That 191 Roc probably should be returned.

I am not sure exactly how long it was produced, but it was used up to 1997 or 98, maybe longer. The starting date is a little more vague, but I believe it started in 1988-89, but at that time the core engraving said San Marino. The engraving was later changed to Ontario. The Classic Roc, (the 175 gm max small Roc), used the same core, so the engraving for both would have changed at the same time.

The USDGC Champion Rocs have all been shipped to Rock Hill. You would have to get your info or spy pics from them. I believe Zonedriven is handling them, but it might be Innova East.

I think it was around 1995 when we moved here to Rancho Cucamonga. I don't remember marking letters before, so it was probably after that.
