Dave! I got myself an orange star TB today, and I have a question. Did you repair or tweak the CA. Teebird mold since the old stamp 11x's were run? I've found that the newer run CA. TB's are less high speed stable. What do you think?

Thanks Dave, i don't have your arm strength but i need more room to work those discs too (Wraith, Starfire, ORC). I may need to bust out that old disc ace disc (Thanks NINA FO FI TRE) one of the only aces at Copperhead Canyon in Tulsa with a VIKING!!!!
SWEET!!!

DSPro, no tweaking, just differences between runs and individual discs. The differences I've found have been between just high speed stable and slightly overstable high speed. Flatter discs are a little more low speed overstable. I personally like slightly overstable with a medium dome. After I use it for a while it turns into a long fast Roc.

Dave, today i received two SB (STAR) Rocs, an SB (STAR) Orc, a Glow Coyote, a Ch Coyote, and a Ch Orc in the mail after working out 2 big trades. Plus I recently bought 3 Ch. Roadrunners, an SB Orc, a Ch. Wraith and 2 Ch. Coyotes -- none of the above have yet been thrown. It's snowing hard right now and with all this sweet candy in front of me it's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!
Thanks for all the great discs you've brought us -- it takes the bah humbug right out of the holiday season

Dave, Thanks for the Xmas Disc from Innova, a sweet holiday stamp on a white starwinder. I might not throw this one unlike last years Champ Sidewinder w/Santa, which is still in the bag!
Have a Happy Holiday and I'm looking forward to the Star Stingray.

Dave, will star wraiths and star orcs be available as cfr's (for other events) prior to both am and pro worlds? I thought i read ,in the past, that these would be exclusive to worlds until the events take place!!

efrain, the Star Wraith will be out soon and has already done most of its job for the PDGA Worlds. The Star Orc will not be available in normal distribution until the Am Worlds, or until we are satisfied it has done what we wanted it to for the Am Worlds.

Dave,
Is there any way to order a stack of 4-time Aviar X's? I love that disc....especially the Yellow ones, but I lost my only yellow 4-time.

Dave:
Is the new Star Beast in the newly tweaked Beast mold or is it in the old mold?

My interest in the Star Aviar keeps me awake some nights.
Will it be soft like the putters or stiffer like the drivers ? |

Donny, with that latest rating you keep it up you might become sponsored (assuming you aren't). I'd like to see you catch on fire and win Worlds. Next up: the Donny Olow Aviar.
I know some think Des deserves a disc but anyone who has as many Aviars as you and who stays up nights wondering about the next Aviar model deserves consideration imo

Orc and Mindy, you could check with discgolfvalues or zonedriven, or possible on this message board.

Hi Dave. I've been reading the 2006 USDGC Roc thread. I'm reading some good, some bad, some say theirs are floppy, some not. I just bought a 176g one off eBay, white with the claw stamp, but i haven't received it yet. What's your take on them? Rigidity? Durability? Stability?
Thanks, Kent "The Colonel" Bray Houston |

Not to answer for Dave, but the tweaked mold is less high speed stable. So it's going to turn right a bit more for the RHBH throwers.

And Dave...got two yellow star teebirds today...sweet plastic. Without a doubt the closest thing to the creamy 10x plastic that we all love so much.

I'm glad to hear that description of the new star plastic. I have two 10X teebirds that I love that plastic. I also bought several early run proline leopards that are close to the 10X plastic. Now I need to order about 10 of those star beast.

Kent, I haven't thrown this year's Rocs so I don't have a personal take. I am reading the same things you are. As for the tweaked Beast. The original Beast was very similar to the Orc. I tweaked it to give it more turn and more glide.

ce the new Beast should not look similar to the Starfire, unless you are comparing it to the Star SL (Starfire L). The Starfire has a similar profile to a TeeBird. As far as flight comparisons: The Beast has more high speed turn, than the SL. The Star FL will probably be out in Spring.

Even more shocking, i heard you don't throw Rocs And, until the recent addition to your bag of Coyotes, before that you threw JK Aviars for your short drives, midrange and approach shots, and for putting. ![]() i had to throw that out there because i saw someone with a tagline quoting your above question to me (minus the emoticons) ![]() btw, i love the Coyote and Roadrunner. I am going to replace Sidewinders with Roadrunners -- i love the way they feel in my hand and the flight characteristics are nice too. Thanks for that tip about throwing understable discs nose up to get them to go straight. Have yourself a merry little Christmas... |
