Scott, it is the same plastic as the Rocs. The Orc plastic might have been a lighter mix. The black Tees seemed to be softer than the white. There might be some difference between colors and opacity might vary with each batch.

oh ok..
To me the White Star Teebird feels like a JLS or a QJLS fresh out of the factory... THe Other Teebirds feel more like the Special Blend Rocs and Orcs.. The white teebird really feels different though.. definatley like something Millenium or superrocish -Scott Lewis |

I think the Teebirds feel alot like 10x KCs. I expect they will be well liked by people not wanting to shell out the $25+ for the 10xs.

The 10x are regarded by many as the best Teebirds. I think most like the hybrid type, which these feel alot like, but have the grip of the regular old school KC plastic. Im sure these will be a staple in many-a-bag this coming year.

As always, we appreciate your infinite patience........
May have already been asked, shoot I could have even asked it myself, but is the STAR plastic any more amenable to getting lighter weights with some of the big rimmed molds, i.e. the Wraith, or is DX going to be the ultimate answer to a 160g or less Wraith? Thanks.

Riverdog, yes DX is going to be the ultimate answer to a 165gm or less Wraiths. Star plastic is the same range as Champion.

i am trying to figure which to carry, and i am leaning toward the Starfire (X) for that niche. What do you see as the main difference between the Star Wraith and Star Starfire? Speed?
They both seem good into the wind... btw, i think "STAR Starfire" is a great name and so that's where i'm leaning

Rob, I don't know which is the main difference, but speed and flight characteristics are different. The Star Starfire is more like a high speed TeeBird, and the Star Wraith is more like a higher speed Orc.

I love and carry a lot of Orcs (Champ, Pro, SB) so that makes me feel the STAR Starfire would overlap less with the Orcs than a STAR Wraith. I am thinking the Starfire (X) is a bit more hi-speed stable than my Orcs and has a bit more fade and is better into a headwind. Does that sound right? (I am thinking it would fall between an Orc and an FL) i don't throw Teebirds... I tried to look at the Innova flight charts but I think they show the Starfire-L (SL) when the chart says "Starfire" and not the Starfire X ... ? |

Dave that's a beautiful comparison since that's the comparison you made when the starfire came out in pro.. I'm glad you stuck with it as I agree as well..
I have only thrown a Pro Wraith a few times, but I like the Orc more(although I carry none of the above.. Only Teebirds) I"m looking forward to the Star Winders though... I traded for 2 of them and have never thrown sidewinders before. are they really that flippy out of the box? -Scott Lewis |

Rob, I agree that the Starfire has a little more high speed stability, but I don't think it has more low speed fade. You don't throw TeeBirds???

The Star Sidewinders I have been throwing are not that flippy out of the box unless you are throwing hard into a wind. They seem to be less flippy than Champion, and are the one model that seems to be appreciably different in Star vs. Champion. I use my Starwinder as an air disc started on a hyzer to flip up and cruise. Up hill, I think I get as much distance with this disc as I do with a Star Wraith as there is no wasted travel going right and coming back left.
YMMV As always, I would like to hear your opinion.

I can't wait until Christmas so I can throw the Star Sidewinder and Teebird. I have thrown SB Rocs and Orcs ... so I know these are going to be great.

Dave... I threw my Star Teebird(The white max weight one) Today and I'm honestly Very dissapointed in the disc.
I"m sure the other Star teebirds That i bought of different colors will be fine, but this disc was not great at all. The grip is way to slick. It's more slick than champion and It didn't really grip up at all when it got dirty. It is quite stable though and moreso than champion like you said. Unfortunately I ended up just throwing my 11x Teebirds becuase they had better grip in the cold... I'm sure the other colors would be fine since they all felt like the regular Specialblend/Star plastic i know. -Scott Lewis |

Do you throw anything else but an 11x Teebird? ( As far as Teebirds ) This is just my opinion, but 11x are not that great. I agree they are better than the Champion, but they arent CE or CFR Glos either. Like I said before, these are closer to the 10x version Teebirds. If you want 11x, stick with those. If you want CE w/o CE price, get a CFR Glo.

I was referring to the plastic on the White Star Teebird i have. IT is different than the plastic of allthe other color. THe other colors feel just like the SB orcs and ROcs so i know they will be nice and grippy and probably just as stable...
It's just this one disc that is bothering me becuase it really doens't have much grip at all.. I ended up throwign my 11x teebirds instead because they had more grip. -Scott Lewis |

10x are way better than 11x. The Star Teebird I have is a proto,in black plastic, havent seen the White plastic version. It feels far superior to the 11x.
