None other than the Edgo-O-Town. The only hotel that has had repeat customers for 8+ years who won't add any money to the tournament as a sponsor and adds $20 to the cost of rooms per night just for the disc golf tournament.

But..................It has a Volcano Fountain.

So Stella calls me around lunchtime and tells me I better have my putter dialed in for the monthly tomorrow at Deer Lakes. I'm thinking to myself "Why? Is Mike Moser or Larry Leonard going to be in town?", but before I could say anything thing he informed me that all the pins will be in the A positions! This will be the first time the course has ever been set up entirely in A-pins!

Don't forget about the Timberlink Open on Sunday, May 25! This weekend should be a lot of fun!

Beans Beans the magical fruit, the more you eat, the more you toot, the more you toot the better you feel, we should have beans for every meal.

So with all A-pins i'm going to assume double will be from the whites?

Looks like J. Gary would have set the record but put his drive into the water on hole#15?

You had a great round, including awesome birdie 3s on hole#10 and 16, and deuces on 4,8, and 17. But you bogeyed hole#2 and hole#5 (which are deuce runs) so that record can surely be lowered.

Default WHAT A DISC GOLFERS WEEKEND!!!

there could not have been a better weekend of disc golf... great weather, great courses, great friends, it had it all!!!

Deer Lakes Monthly, all "A" pins... seems like everyone had a blast and doubles was definitely awesome... Sid, partner, thanks for the saves and getting me my 5 bones back, you're the man!!!

Timberlink... lets just say disc golf, carts, and beers go VERY well together. good friends dont hurt either. Jerry, this needs to be a semi-annual like Hitman said, it's just tons of fun. Did I mention beers and carts?

and lastly, a STELLAR 9 hole course in a Ligonier Boy Scouts Camp (Twin Echo) designed by the one and only J Gary. This private looks like it has the ability to be an awesome course on a very well maintained gorgeous piece of BOA property.

good to see everyone. Kurt, next time bring a spittoon for cryin' out loud!

Had a putt for 2 on 2. Hit the basket and rolled all the way down the hill.

I think a 56 will be shot easily next time they are at A's by someone.

we were indeed at Timberlink Jay. There is no longer an official Devotional. I believe occasionally some peeps do play Sunday AM, but nothing points/club wise goes on.

The "Sunday Devotional" has been replaced by rotating monthly events on both Saturdays and Sundays. For a full schedule for the entire year, check the PFDS Event Calendar!

Thanks. I just wondered because with limited free time while I'm in da burgh, sun morn round was always fun / casual round with friends that fit nicely in my schedule. It's tough for me to fit in family time and make it out to the monthly events, although I've been trying to make it to several, I always have other things come up or people visiting. I never played for the points / series / cash anyways.

GO PENS! Hopefully we'll be able to watch them beat da wangs again Sat!!!

Keep in mind that the rotating monthly events are just one round starting at 10 AM. So they take just as much (or as little) time as the Sunday Devotional used to.

Typically many of those who participate in the morning round stick around afterwards for another round of doubles, but that is entirely optional.

Default Schenley Park

So Chris Ditz won approx. $350 last night at the schenley night league. Aced hole #1 with a beauty of a shot. Firebird forehand = VeeDub back on the road.

I'm not sure what you mean by "ratings" but the SSA (Scratch Scoring Average) from PDGA-sanctioned events held at Schenley can be viewed here:
http://www.pdga.com/tournament/cours...ngCourseID=242

Looks like SSA from the white tees is usually around 46-47 and 51-52 for the blue tees.

Lots of disc golf action around the 'burgh this holiday weekend! On the local level we've got the Knob Hill Monthly which starts on Saturday, July 5, at 10:00 am. For those players jonesing for some PDGA sanctioned tournament play, there are a couple of one-dayers happening on Saturday:

Fire in the Sky '08 (C-tier at Norwalk, OH)

Kentucky State Championships (C-tier at Idlewild Park, Burlington, KY)

On Sunday, there is a one-day C-tier Doubles event in Monroe, OH:

Deuce or Die (XC Tier ~ Doubles event benefitting the E.D.G.E. program)

Where ever you play this weekend, be safe......and have a great Independence Day!

Default Re: Moraine Monthly!

The Moraine Monthly is this Sunday, July 20 and the singles round begins at 10:00 am. Random doubles will follow lunch for those who are interested....that round usually starts around 2:30 pm.

This will be the last opportunity for players to get one more monthly round in before the Invitational at Moraine, a handicap tournament which will be held during the Regatta at Lake Arthur on August 2-3 (click here to see last year's information). Players who have a minimum number of blue tee rounds at Moraine will receive a handicap for the Invitational. In addition to the handicap payout, we'll have a raw score payout for those who want to throw $5 toward that side bet. Players who don't have a handicap can play in the raw score competition within their respective division.

The other cool thing about the Invitational at Moraine is that it will be a "flex-start".....since the PFDS will be promoting disc golf during the Regatta, we'll have the big tent set up by hole 1 and players can show up anytime throughout the weekend to play their Invitational rounds....morning, afternoon, evening....it doesn't matter....you can play the round whenever it best suits you! As players finish their rounds, scores will be posted on the leaderboard and the finalized results will be posted online. Winners need not be present and we will mail the cash winnings if necessary (100% cash payout, by the way....for all divisions).

Event details / handicaps will be posted sometime next week following the Moraine Monthly on Sunday. Mark your calendars for August 2-3.

Default Alanna the Ace Machine

So, Alanna recorded her first Tournament ACE on Saturday during the Crawdad Cooker in Camp Hill, PA. She would have won $120 but someone else aced his last hole of the tourney to claim half of the ace pot.
