Are the DGLO Comets as desirable as the Ron Russel ones? How many of the DGLOs were made?

MJ you are not kidding! I just got a few of the from D-Craft and they are super overstable. I don't know how much I will putt with mine. Maybe into a 50 MPH wind. I do know that I am going to throw the crud out of it for drives and approach shots.

classified as a putter, doesnt mean it is only, or even predominately a putter. i never putt with mine, but throw them on 70% of the holes on my home course.

Uh, yeah, the ESP Zone I have is perfect. I would say that my ESP ones are possibly even a touch more stable than the Pro-D. Excellent job. Nice to see a company listen to the consumers. KP

MJ putts with them but probably is going to keep using the older ones if these are too beefy. I haven't used mine to putt with since Worlds but I remember hittint a few long uphill putt with it so I may try it out again for specialty putts.

How is everyone liking the New Z Comets? I threw one that had a little low speed turn but from what I have heard they have some that have a little more stability. Does anyone see any color variances or anything between them?

I threw one of the LE ones from Worlds and it was NOT overstable. It was the stability of a Buzz. I was throwing it firmly flat to slight hyzer and all it wanted to do was glide straight. Like a broken-in classic roc or a stable Breeze...
You're the only person I have heard say anything like this. I have one of the LE ESP Zones from Worlds, and it is a str8^ PIG. It comes out of my hand fading, I use it for super-short-sharp skip shots (150-170), mid-range forehands that I know will not flip, and headwind mid-range throws in general. It is sick overstable.

My Green Z Comets hot 0 HS turn unless i really lay on them. They also don't have a ton of fade either. I've only tossed the green ones of the new run.

I only threw one. It was very flat topped, and like I said flew very straight. Seems to be an aberration.

Default Discraft\'s new releases

The new ESP Zones are Beeeeeeeeefy! The new Z-Forces are a tad more overstable than the Players Cup sparkle Z-Forces. The new Z-avenger SS is going to be a fun roller/turnover driver that wont wear out as quickly as the ESP version. Great job Circle D! Yippee!

Yeah, his shot was inches away from hitting a fence and tree off the teepad, but stayed clean, landed, stood up and rolled 30' from the pin. Climo's roller didn't get up all the way and he had a 60-70 footer. Climo's putt didn't draw metal and Emac slammed his 30 footer. He has one of the most line drive putts I've ever seen. He releases waist height and the disc does not move up or down at all. Climo took his hat off to him.

The interesting thing was the final hole of the final 9. It was a pretty easy 315' straight shot that had to carry 280' over water. The basket is on an island and close to the water on the right side. Emac was up by 1 going into this hole and was last on the teepad as he had spent the final 9 watching his lead diminish. Climo was only one stroke back, but had taken a 6 on the hole on Saturday. This must have been on his mind because he played it VERY conservatively laying up 50' to the left of the basket getting close to the opposite side of the island. Emac could have parked the hole and won...instead it looked like he wanted to be aggresive but didn't totally committ because his shot straight at the basket fell short of making land by inches. He took a 4 from the drop and it forced the playoff as Climo got his easy 3. It was a great finish to watch. Emac can now check off something any great player wants to add to their accomplishments...beat the Champ in a playoff. Well done!

If he released it waist high would it even go in?

Emac is not a tall man, but I think his waist is still above the basket. I'm sure he releases from a little above his waist, but not nearly as high as other people putt, and closer to his waist than chest. Sorry if I was not literal enough for your tastes.

It is from the waist! i like how it has the slight nose up the whole way too but that is one putt I just can't mimic too well. If you can you will also start hitting more putts.

EMac has a putting style that I see a lot of people use around the Topeka/Lawrence/Emporia/KC area.

I bet they don't keep it perfectly level with just a touch of nose up. Once again maybe the nose up is because it is flying up to the basket.

Hero,

Any idea if Discraft will ever make a Z-Zone or an ESP Glide? Both of those would be super

Also on an old note. Any idea why they never made a D Breeze?

The Zone will probably be made in Z if it becomes popular. I don't think the Glide has enough of a following, especially since D's pumping out a new mid every year it seems. The Breeze is discontinued in all forms I believe. It was not made in D plastic because the whole concept behind the Breeze was to be the first understable mid in premium plastic. The mold probably would have been very understable in D.

the word on the street was that the zzone and zdrone were fundraising options for 09 worlds, as we all know they went with the drone, but this tells me that the zone is both possible and likely at some point.

Mike pretty much summed it up! And to answer the question about the possibility of an elite Z-Zone, the Zone mold shouldn't have any problems being run in candy plastic. As TheZac stated, it's probably just a matter of time.

Default CircleD dream

I had a dream (which is rare), a DG dream (even rarer), i was putting with a Pro-D APX. After waking and realizing it was just a dream, now I'd like to see a Pro-D APX. Anyone else?

The glide is a very under-appreciated disc.

The breeze in D plastic would have been understable, but it would have made a very good putter!

Yes we can throw DGA products. The DGA Reef IS the APX mold but it's DGA's plastic mixture. I like the feel and stiffness of Cirlce D's Pro-D mix moreso than DGA's blend. It's close, but no cigar. Might have to try them anyway since there are no plans to run an APX in Pro-D anytime soon. It just might not be as dreamy.

I still think that Discraft is missing out by not making a floating disc. I would think there would be a market for a stable flying midrange and an overstable driver (#2 hyzer). I know that most seasoned players wouldn't throw them, but I bet new players would love to get there hands on them.

Default Z Storm

Hey Guys -

I'm totally in love with my Z Storm (opaque z, very grippy, 173-175). I have seen ESP Storms (PDGA Membership discs) and heard talk of other opaque z storms, but I haven't seen or heard of clear z storms. Are they out there and where can I find one. Also, if anyone has any storms they would like to send my way I'll gladly take them for trade or cash.

For those who like the storm: What plsatic do you prefer, and what type of flight differences are you seeing?
