Mark Ellis used to be a Firebird thrower. You could ask him. http://www.discgolfersr.us/profile/markellis

Preds are less overstable but can still handle most wind (never gets bad in TN). Firebirds are better for overhands but Preds are longer. Preds skip more. The Pred seems to respond to less than 100% power throws better.

Very well stated. For a 330-350' hyzer I would be throwing the Firebird flat just about as hard as I could. The Predator I would be throwing with 10 degrees of hyzer @ about 85-90%. That is the best way I can communicate the difference.

I switched to a pred from a firebird about 4 years ago...

Preds are faster... they get to where they need to go quicker. I got more D on the same line as a result. A beat pred works well as a thumber, but the firebird overall was a better out of the box thumber. The Z Pred is near indestructable. A beat Z is simalar to an overstable Teebird IMO.

the original 150 class flicks were given out at AM Nationals I believe? these were in the Z plastic. Not sure if they are regularly produced anymore, but I do know they are out there.

Yes they were. I think the 1st runs were orange and yellow. I skipped aced the same hole on three different days with an orange one. They were better.

i traded with a friend a couple of days ago for last years 08 ace race disc. around the middle, the plastic flaked off. just seemed odd, no problems with the plastic on my other 08 ace race discs. we both got them at the same event.

Got one the new Ace Race discs (Nebula isnt it?) in the mail today. For those of you who have thrown it what can I expect out of it? Looks like a mix between a Drone and a Buzzz so I'm expecting straight and stable. Wont get to throw it for a few days because of the rain, but do you all recommend the disc or is it just a failure??

I found the Nebula to be in between a Wasp and a Buzzz. It's fairly stable(straight) with a harder Left turn than the Buzzz at slow speeds. Let me know what you think.

i think it is closer to a wasp. i like it for the low speed flight it has. it is a fairly good approach disc also. i have also made some long range putts with it also.

the ones that i have are more stable than their esp counterparts. the z plastic on the force is a more grippy gummy z.
