I noticed the same thing on the two that I won a couple of weeks ago. They have a tiny little notch on the wing.

i think thats just where the mold pieces meet. you cant take a mold and make it bigger to make a wider wing disc, perhaps the other way, but that would be silly, just make another mold. that being said, molds key together in many different ways, and even though you are used to seeing flashing just along the corers and or the outside of the wing, doesnt mean all the molds come together that way. its probably a multipart mold that happens to have a seam there.

Are the Avenger SS supposed to have a stability rating of .5? I got a ESP Avenger SS this pass weekend that is marked as a 1.7 and I just wondered if it was a typo or if anyone knew anything about these?
Last year we got some stamped discs, some being the Avenger SS, and they were labeled 1.7 also...Which is an odd misprint cause the other regular avengers are 1.8, and 1.6. You'd think it would have been one of those 2 numbers....not a different one.

All the tourney stamped ESP Avengers I have are stamped 1.7, don't know if they made any that say 1.8, maybe someone could fill us in on why they're are 1.7s out there, since they really don't seem any different than the normal 1.8s.

All of the Drones I've seen have been flat. I saw several at the best tournament for ams I know of, Am Nats.

All Zones I have seen (including the "drones" Bruce mentions) on the table at am Nats were all very flat. My proto's are also pretty flat.

The ZONE is SICK!!! Great upshot disc and sick wind putter!!! Love it for hyzer drives and upshots and putting into any kind of wind.......It drops like a rock so the wind really doesnt affect it much at all!!!

Saw some SUPER DOMEY ESP Trackers today at the store. Wondering how these fly compared to normal Trackers if anyone has thrown them.

I second pretty much all Mills said. The disc is outright sick. It has a decent amount of glide, doesn't flip when thrown with a fan grip (although a strong power grip and drive approach will get some hyzer-flip out of it it resists it still). And although it does have a decent fade it isn't huge. And every one of them that I have seen, to keep this somewhat on topic, is dead flat. I have three AmNats Zones and a Proto... they're all dead flat.

Tea the one I threw flew with the same stability but might he a little less HSS compared to the rest when you throw them full power.

I assume it was blue

cheap D plastic or not, man that zone feels great and has a super clean release. 100% predictable too.
As soon as I get a chance I'm sure I'll check one out. Sounds like something I might have a use for. I've still not found a midrange more overstable than the Buzzz that I've felt was worth keeping in the bag.
I got ahold of a Zone yesterday. As I feared, it was the same super grippy but chunkable pro D plastic as my putters. This disc is a little less conventional that I imagined. It is small and the shallowest midrange rim-wise I've felt. I wasn't all that impressed with the flight as this disc didn't really do anything special for me. I could see this disc being useful to people who really like the grip which was a bit to shallow for my tastes (i only throw the Buzzz and Meteor).
This is interesting because Buzzz and Meteor were all I had before I got some Zones. I felt it was a perfect overstable complement to my Buzzz/Meteor combo, filled a niche perfectly.

Any plans for Discraft to use rim crosshatching (eg. Impact) on future discs?

Pure gossip I think, Tho one can still hope.... Z Zone anyone? please? Regarding the domeyness of the Zone, I just got in 2 orange "limited edition" & they are slightly domey, more so than the prototypes I have & much more than the super flat Am Nats baby blue version.

Hero,
Why does Discraft have so many limited edition discs right now? I'd like to try a Drone or Zone but don't want to be chasing a hard to get collector disc if I end up liking the thing?

It blows the whole "I throw Discraft because if I lose a disc I know I can just get another one to replace it and it'll fly exactly the same as the first" theory to hell and back.

Thanks.

Default Meteor vs. Comet

I just picked up a Comet this weekend. What is the flight difference between the two? I assume they are quasi-related given the names. I did notice that the comet is HUGE ... reminds me of the Scorpinian.

They are very close I like the glide and feel of the meteor in the hand better, I just switched to the meteor.

Default SuperColor Surges

Are all supercolor surges 1.5 in stablity, or are there runs of 1.7s as well? Are they discontinued now, especially with the FLX Rogu...errrrr, ummmm... I mean FLX Surge SS on the market?

To my knowledge SuperColor surges are NOT discontinued. They are sold as tournament fund raisers along side with many other fund raiser molds/plastic blends. Not exactly sure of their stability. If you are looking for some, the ADGA has a few left over from our last club event.
