I'm just going to throw this in here because I think it's worth noting ... Just because you can't throw the Force far, doesn't mean it shouldn't be in your bag. I don't throw the Force, I carry an XCaliber, and it's not my distance disc because I too can't get it out as far as other discs in my bag. I carry it because it's a great wind disc, a good sidearm disc, and a faster Firebird. The Xcaliber is great for sidearm shots that need to turn and SKIP big ... And if it gets windy, I don't have to worry about it.
It's not all about distance ... it's about control. These kinds of discs are very useful for other shots too.
Nuff said.

SUPER BUMP!

it's the only thing that will replace both a firebird and a ram in my bag.

After my finish at AmNats I thanked Discraft for the Buzzz. Now that I've had a chance to really throw the Zone that was in our player pack I can confidently say I will be thanking Discraft for the Zone from now on. Another midrange success, sweet disc.

I threw my friends Zone that he got at AmNat's the other day and WOW this disc is amazing! I threw it on a hyzer, it flipped up and flew DEAD STRAIGHT with very little fade at the end. This is possibly the straightest flying midrage I have ever thrown! I think it's straighter than the Buzzz, but only if you absolutely huk it out there. The Buzzz is more finesse IMO, but the Zone is def. a power midrange. When its out in reg. production I'm def. going to pick one up.

They must be different than the Protos because they were overstable.

Well this one was def. stable. It had a tad, tad, tad bit of turn to it, but all in all it was pretty straight and stable. The winds were acting up a little too but it flew right through them.

I can turn it if I grip it with a power grip. With my usual midrange fan grip I can not turn it. It is a straight-stable disc, with a strong fade for a midrange. The thing is, despite being a disc that doesn't turn easy and fades hard it has a good amount of glide.

The only time I've used my zone is when I need a little more fade than my challenger can provide for an approach about 200ft and in. I don't know if there is a need to fill the gap in between my wasp and challenger, but all in all, I like the zone, it's accurate, and unlike any disc in the Discraft lineup rt now. I haven't tried using it off the tee, but I probably should give it a shot since it has a nice putter feel to it, I could probably launch it a lot farther than the 275ft max D that my challenger is providing me right now.

anyone else tried the zone off the tee? especially in comparison with the Challenger, Wasp, Magnet, or Buzzz?

Your review puts me to mind of the Cro... Is this accurate?

I don't know, I have only thrown the Cro a few times, and it was mainly in CFR, and it was a lot less stable than I thought it would be. The Zone definatly has stability in it, enough to where I haven't even attempted to thrown any turnovers with it, it's just so predicatable with it's fade that I can't see using it for much else other than hyzer approaches, much in the was I use my wasp though.

In relation to the Innova Cro: More reliable and definitely more glide. My short experience with the Cro was that it was pretty stable, but didn't have much glide and it was a little easy to overpower causing a flightline that was very touchy between straight-fade and s-curving. The Zone has a good amount of glide for a midrange with its stability, and it is difficult to overpower meaning you can put some arm behind it and still keep it on a very straight line with minimal turn.

Off the tee: It is a solid disc off of the tee. I've been using it all week now. It helped me on numerous occasions at the Discraft Westside Challenge this week, and there were some holes where I didn't use it because I didn't feel comfortable enough with it yet, but I feel now like I should have because of its reliability. I can pump it out upwards of 370 with a reliable line and more if I try to really rear back, definitely further than any putter I could pick up. Though that isn't something I'd use it for during a tourney round.

My only issue with the disc is that it is only in D plastic thus far. The rocks on the Westside Course down in Columbus just shredded it! Two tournament rounds and a few warmup holes and the rim was pretty trashed. Very glad I picked up multiple backups with my winnings at AmNats because D Plastic is the least durable of any plastic by any manufacturer. (though I will admit it has the best feel and D Challengers are great, awesome putter plastic)

Default Challeng vs. Magnet

How much different are the challenger and magnet? Especially for driving?

For me, when new and thrown flat RHBH, Magnets are just about dead straight with a bit of fall off to the left. Challengers will always fade back.

in a stiff headwind the challeger is definatly my goto.
all other times i prefer the soft magnet.
i also carry three other molds (other manufactuerers).
if im not hitting with one i grab a nother.

I used to putt with the magnet for years, then went to the Wizard, but in going back to the Magnet I didn't like the new gummier D plastic (or maybe it hardens up, after two months I was fed up with the plastic), so I went to the Challenger and my putting is the best it's ever been. I like the stability it provides, and am waaay more confident w/ the challenger vs. the mag in the wind. My biggest issue with the challenger right now is turnover putts or left to right putts. I'm still adjusting to it. Once I broken in my D challengers a little, I've started hitting them a little more often, but still not at the rate that I'd like.

I can drive the Challenger a little farther than the Magnet off the tee, but that's probably just due to my poor putter driving skills (only about 250-275ft max on flat ground, but straight as an arrow, whereas the mag took a little more finesse and hyzer angle).

The APX (swirl) is the closest thing to an aviar P&P, and is by far the best "touch/understable" putter Circle D offers that is not high profile like the Putt'r and Rattler.

While i may have too much of life to win the event, how about going $1 a stroke and see who's eyes looked swirled after 60 holes.

Default Ultra Light Buzzz

Is there a plan for the UL Buzzzes packaged with the 08 Worlds FLX Drone on GGTG to be released separately? Or will they only be available by purchasing the Drone? Thanks.

Never used a Swirl, but Id agree to that with the Soft X as well. They are DEAD ON straight.
