I woudl hope it's not held back until the ace races, that's pretty much shelving this disc for tournament use until next year.

Since I live in Ken Climo's Innova bubble I've not yet seen this new disc. What is it? Most of the new molds Discraft puts out have a recognizable top or bottom...What does it look like? Old Breeze parts? Off the Meteor platform? Any info would be appreciated. I'm starting to get excited b/c one of the things I've long thought was missing in the Discraft lineup was an XD/Classic Roc type disc. Something with the general range of a putter but with better wind resistance/ability to fly lower.

any chance that discraft is holding this one off for the ace race? I know they probably wouldn't release it to so many people before the ace race, but it seems like it fits the "ace race" mold of discs.

for what it's worth, after test throwing it, i'd have to agree with matt, it seems more like a overstable mid. it seems faster than my wizard. that being said, i know plenty of people that putt with mids, especially on windy days.
Using it for the ace race is a possibility.

If you really want to compare it to the other company's molds, then i would say that it is kind of a cross between an XD and a Cro. Pretty dang overstable. It's a black blank disc with a ghost stamp that says "Discraft Proto" on the underside.

I wouldn't be surprised if it is the next Ace Race disc.

I guess that wouldn't totally upset me, I would be bummed I can't use it in tourneys over the summer but I would stock up on the disc come fall by hitting a few ace races.

As far as I can tell, the Comet is one of Discraft's most popular discs of all time. I can't figure out for the life of me why they wouldn't add the Z to the standard production line. Nothing else flies like a Comet...

After throwing it at the 1 Disc Challenge in Ann Arbor this weekend - I really hope it goes into regular production soon. I'd love to be using it by the time Amateur Nationals rolls around.

I have been throwing a buzzz (2nd 1st run) around in the field the past week and have sorta grown on it. I usually throw kc rocs and ce eagle x's. I am trying to find a discraft (or dga) disc that flies like the ce eagles. I have been thinking that a riptide might work, or fly like an eagle, but just dont know. do any of u discraft throws have any idea what a similar disc might be to the eagles that i throw, which are getting very difficult to find? thank you.

The Titanic from DGA is basically an ESP Magnet, same mold from what I've heard, just doesn't have the same glide as D Magnets though,, As for the Xtreme, I think they discontinued it in all plastics (I could be wrong, but I am positive this is the case for the X2, and Xtra), so I don't think they'll be making an ESP Xtreme, unless it's some crazy LE run.

As for a Discraft disc that flys like an Eagle, Check out the ESP Tracker or the Z Tracker, IMO the ESPs are more stable than the Zs, so a ESP Tracker could=Eagle X while the Z or X Tracker could = Eagle-L.
And a Riptide does fly similar to an Eagle as well, maybe a notch faster. I've seen it mentioned that the Riptide is very similiar to a Viking.

An ESP Magnet would probably come way before an ESP Xtreme. The Xtreme mold was discontinued a few years ago and has only been pulled out and dusted off for organizations/tournaments (like the MSDGC) that have promised to do a lot of business with Discraft.

I don't know but Bratten is bombing his and I threw it big when I tried it so I am hoping it is coming soon. I am throwing a regular Venom right now but they break in a little quick.

i think it depends how you are interpreting this statement. i think the flx challenger is not at all like a challenger, its way less stable. perhaps the mold feels different than a magnet, but the ones ive had seem to fly with stabillity more similar to a new magnet than a challenger. yea of course they are different, but i think that someone who cares for the stability of a magnet and wants better plastic, may be able to easliy substitute a flx challenger.

Default Crystal Avenger SS

I picked up a Crystal Z Avenger SS this weekend. Neat disc. It doesn't fly at all like the ESP. It is a lot more stable. I ripped it hard with a little hyzer and it did a tight S turn. This would have been a roller with the ESP. I'm going to have to mess around with it a little more.

My only problem with the Cryztal Z Avenger SS (I got the ESP in my bag) is that no matter what color it is I have trouble finding it in a field. Same goes for all the Cryztal discs. They're just a little too clear. The Cryztal Z Avenger SS is a nice disc, but it didn't take long for me to beat the stability out of it and make it my roller. I think it rolls a little better than the ESP, but I just don't like searching so much for a disc. I wish they'd go ahead and make it in standard Z. For my forehand rollers I've been using a ESP Tracker with some decent results.

I gotta disagree, I have a pro d challenger and an FLX Challenger and I think the FLX is more stable.I have a yellow FLX Challenger that is less stable than the orange FLX so maybe you have a mold flaw; but they are both more stable than the Pro D.
