Is the Ice Bowl going to be the standard layout played twice or the SVO 18 layout?

I am thinking about doing a modified layout for a few holes. To do the SVO layout I would need 10 extra baskets on site by 8am.
However, for the ice bowl, I don't want to make it too hard. Aside from that, SV is willing to let us do the SVO layout for our monthlies. I see about coordinating that for future monthlies. |

The Z Buzzzes and the Pro Wraiths from the Ice Bowl look awesome. It's not a bad deal for $20 bucks, you get a disc and a players pack (if you're one of the first 50), and you're supporting the San Diego Food Bank. Don't forget you can buy mulligans for $1. Hopefully we will have a good turnout!

This just in:
Thanks to Disc Golf United http://www.discgolfunited.com/ and Randy W. a basket will be awarded at the Ice-Bowl to the person with the most aces, or raffled off if no aces occur. If you are a club member, please spend some time this week inviting anyone and everyone to come out to La Mesa for this charity event. Be sure to tell him/her about all the good stuff he/she actually gains on top of getting to play a fun round or two of disc golf. It's not just a monthly for us, it's also an opportunity for us to further build a community relationship, and expose our sport to more people. And of course these things only help strengthen the club and our interest. |

I will have extra flyers with me for the SV Ice Bowl and the Wintertime Open by this evening. Anyone who needs one can contact me, I will be spreading as many Ice Bowl flyers around as I can.

It looks like the Morley Winter League also starts on Saturday. I would like to still donate some food and $$ for the cause, but will be unable to be two places at once. Any suggestions?

Great Question Big D!
Anyone who is willing and able to help this event can drop off canned food at Sun Valley during their regular business hours, any day between now and the end of the event. SV will set the goods aside till we can pick it up during the event. With all the activity popping up it gets difficult to avoid scheduling conflicts. That aside, everyone attending this event should have a great time just like last year. Please invite or recommend to first-timers to come out and play. For their entry fee they almost "break even" with the disc & minnie combo, and they might win a basket; plus they can dabble in slightly competitive play on a fun & different 18 hole set up. I intend to modify the layout a little for some new fun. |

The first 50 get players packs. So at least 50! You can get an app from the Morley Field pro shop, or find me, I have extras and I should be at either Morley Field or Sun Valley tomarrow.

Randy is pretty much set for the weekend. I hope you can come out and bring a friend (plus a can-o-food). He or she could opt to play one set of 18 since the focus is really on raising funds.
That said, I really want to do the SVO layout, but it would be better to save that for better weather. Anyhow, looking forward to see everyone, and SV is excited to host this event again this year. They have already booked us for the 2008 SVO. This year could be a great year for the relationship between SV, La Mesa, and Disc Golf. Come on out and help kick off the year. |

It's Ice Bowl time...
Good luck, and I'll see you out there for the 8:30 players meeting. ![]() It looks like it will be a bitter cold 70°F with a 0% chance of precipitation. Only the brave will make this one.

Great tournament. Well run and a great layout. Glad to see such a great turnout. Too bad nobody hit an ace but congrats to Evan for winning the basket in the raffle. And way to go Dave for beating Carl in the putter challenge. Aviars all the way.

I had a lot of fun today. Have fun with the challenger Dave, mabye you'll use it and realize what i've been saying about Aviars this whole time. I would like to thank everyone that showed up today, a great turnout on an event like this looks real good for us Aces when we want the community to help us out.
All of that aside, the thing I was most happy of all to see today was the return to competition of Willie Lister. I can not overstate how awesome it is to see him back out there. It was very inspiring to watch and i'm glad to see he got better so quickly. All in all, an awesome Ice Bowl. Thanks to Randy and Co. for putting everything together! Congrats to Jeff, Allen, and Paul for taking their divisions!

I really enjoy Ice Bowls!!
![]() Thanks Randy, Allison, Dave, Dave, Richard (and anyone else I missed). Our Sun Valley events are always lots of fun - keep up the great work! Thanks also to MJ and the hospitality of the Sun Valley staff. I played in two great groups today. Thanks guys for making it such a fun day. It was a proud moment for me to play on a lead card with my son - means a lot to me (and I still was able to beat him!). And to echo Carl, it was great to have you back Willie!!! Everyone should hit the pillow tonight knowing that they did a good deed for members of the community less fortunate than ourselves. Good job disc golfers!!!

Please pass along our thanks to Sandie for the pics. I must say that I enjoy seeing the contorted looks on everyone's faces (including mine) when they throw!
