It's not a turtle. The shell is part of the skeleton so you'd not get anything out but meat if you removed the shell. Alacrity gets my vote, some sort of muskrat or some animal from the rat family. There are many larger rat like animals out there that don't get near the media coverage they should.

That is not the same as the other pic
this picture was released by the same group that released the first. Couple of peculiar things. They cannot supply the body now and they apparently took more pictures and they are releasing them slowly. From this angle, it looks more dog to me.

I think this latest picture looks like a wild hog of some kind. I say we throw that swine on the spit, slap some BBQ sauce on his [censored], and have us a good ole fashioned country social.
