Why would players attending a disc golf tournament want to see scores? I mean if you pay to play why do the scores even matter

Believe it or not mike, some people actually care how they shoot in these events. It is percieved by many that if you pay to play, you should get to see how your score stacked up against the competition.

Interesting analogy, Jake...perhaps other TD's will consider this method and apply it to their events, or maybe not.

Jake, what if the event is non-sanctioned...do you still have to post scores?

Jake is trying to support the Stillwater Classic by mentioning the "posting of scores" skills that Andrew Treat has.

Mike Treat knows his stuff as well.

I really hope we have a good turn out this year. ALL $$$ go straight back into the courses.

Last year we bought the last 3 baskets to finish Hoyt Grove.

This year we will start replacing the worst at Boomer.

It is pretty obvious to anyone who has been on this board for very long, exactly what this posting, that is only occuring on the WAFDA site, is all about. And while I am an overall positive person, and try not to get involved in such things, I would like the TD of the Stillwater Tourney to know that this is not the type of plug you want for your tourney. I for one will not be there after seeing these posts. And I know it should not be a reflection on you and your touney, but quite simply it is. You guys that have a beef, that is not already dead , keep it off the board and put it on the course. This kinda stuff just looks bad for the sport. While it can't be shown as a blatant personal attack, to anyone who knows the history it obviously is, and as far as I am concerned could be grounds for suspension from the boards. It's time to move on!

Way to go Willie!
These guys just get a little tweeked when you call em out on their weak excuses for bailing out.
It's OK if they don't want to come over here and play Alma next year anyway. The field will be maxed out without them .
One thing about AR tourneys is for sure.THEY PAY!!!
Too bad they won't be enjoying these payouts because they're to busy busting peoples huevos over little BS complications.
You ladies just stay over there. We'll try to enjoy hosting PAYING events for people who appreciate them.
Oh and BTW!
2008 So National Pros' will be at Burns .Let's see if they can back up this small talk by showing up there. ;
(Hey maybe Team Weiner will be able to host the challenge next year)LMAO!!!!!

I don't think my Mr. Ed comment had anything to do with "past history". ....

I don't think the TD has any control over what's posted on his thread either. Why he posted it over here I don't know because I really don't think any of you guys had planned on coming over anyway. I'm not going because it's a two day tournament and my body is falling apart because I'm old.

I've got heart problems and the doctor is telling me to stop drinking and smoking. If I get rid of those vice's then I sometimes wonder what fun is disc golf without that stuff? ....It's always been more fun playing on the last place card with the alkys and heads than it is to play on the first place card with the snobs. Of course I've never played on a first place card so I can't really speak from personal experience. ....That is probably why "big payouts" are not the reason I would attend a tournament one way or another. Like I really have a shot at that cash.

My motivation is to bring humility and insight into "Two-Finger's" life by doing battle on the fields of glory and let him know that know matter how bad his game is, there is always someone else's that is worst. ....That is why we are TD's.

I think you all need to get together and have a "group hug".

Like a baby.

I left this thing alone.MC starts it up by talking smack again.Looks like he's got nothing better to do.
I sent him a message on another site.Didn't wanna get suspended from this board.
I'll give you guys another chance to leave it be.
That's the kind of guy I am.I can give it and I can take it.But in time I always have a way of forgetting.
I've had my beefs on this board. It isn't unusual. It seems at times that's all some want. They forget about all the hard work people have put in this association and it's events, courses etc.
You not just attacking me.Your slamming everybody who's tried to make WAFDA a good thing.
Just like when I called MC a weiner.Man that was such an easy shot.I mean it wasn't hardcore like calling him something much worse.
It was a simple shot and everybody over there backed him up because it was taken like it was against all of you.
It wasn't.But that's how it felt wasn't it.
I planned on helping him. When have I not helped in any event i've been involved in.
I'd done all the homework,Laid out the entries,Payout, place to host it,I was bringing the trophy.A mini basket from my own personal stash. The only one I have.I was gonna have Evan mount it for everyone to take home year after year.
Nah man,I wasn't bailing out.Just hoping someone could take the official TD position and finalize everything. It would have been very simple.
Basicially all we had to do was show up.
But NAH!!!
He wouldn't even call me to see what was going down.He just threw is hands up in the air and quit.THAT P'd me off.
Look on the flyer. It's all there.Even the poll for what each team was to consist of.
Now you take this and add the not posting of scores from Alma and whalah! Pitch is a bonehead.Or a ******,Donkey etc etc etc.
Some posts were even more hardcore.Deleted of course but not by the moderator.
Yeah i'd say it's all a bunch of BS but i'm not the only one who's made my bed.
Thing is mine is made of truth.
So once again. We can leave this thing alone or continue.Well you can continue.I've said my peace.
Much more of this and i'll simply turn into a player and nothing else.

Too bad the moderators don't agree with you. Mentioning the posting of scores is not a bad plug for the SW Classic. They always get their scores up quickly. Figured since the Arkies get the shaft on this we had to mention it.

Feel free to report me to the moderators.

We can continue, that's fine by me. Pitch this thread is about posting scores, nobody mentioned the TEam Challenge until you brought it up. You should continue your whining in the team thread.

Back to the SW Classic; I am 100% sure that Andrew Treat will have his scores posted within 2 hours after the event. Might not be as much cash payout as Alma, but at least the players and the masses can view the scores freely.

Will someone please report me for making personal attacks, this is not the place for that kind of non-sense.

I would have to agree with you Mr. Conners. There are a lot of ways to attack a person without using cursing, that is just as effective. A personal attack to me is anything that is degrading or slandering the other person (putting them in a bad light) or anything that is meant as a way to raise the other persons ire (make them mad). That is exactly the reasoning for your post that was placed on the WAFDA boards, and only the WAFDA board. If you really thought this was such an important issue, and a calling card for the tournament, you would have placed such postings in other places also, not just on Tom's home post.
Now, overall I do not have a problem with you. I know you are a great player and have heard many good things about you. I just feel like it is time that we let this one go. This will be my last post on the subject.

There's no way that I'd let the above posts reflect on the tournament.......personal beefs are just that, personal between a few and are better left off of these boards, a post from an individual player should not be reflected on the TD, clubs and staff that work so hard just to let us play golf in an official professional atmosphere as we all should know

I've heard nothing but great things about this tournament, I sincerely wish I could make it however between time, money and life I know that I sadly will not however I do look forward to checking the scores out as they come in, it really is cool to be able to perhaps sense the hotly contested rounds without being there, especially 2 day events.........closest thing we got without video coverage

Oklahoma has always stepped up huge to support our tournaments and any Arkies that can make this will surely have an awesome time at a well run event

I hear you, Willie...good post by the way.

I have to admit Jake and I get carried away with things sometimes. What may seem like attacks to you is just extreme sarcasim between me and Jake. But it was pointed at Pitch only because he never admitted to his mistake, only blamed the PDGA. I'll drop the "posting of scores" crap just because it's an old issue and like Two-Finger says we are only beating a dead horse.
Honestly, we were only trying to get a rise out of Pitch and unfortunatly it worked...worked so good Pitch sent me a message through myspace calling me dollface (pitch thinks i'm hot) and something else about "say it to my face" or whatever. Can you say GROW UP?

Only Jake and I see the real humor in it. I think we can give it rest now.

I'll drop it but i'll have to admitt some things have changed for me.
I'm not that easily hot headed about stuff. It takes more than a couple litle jokes to really get me boiled. And i'll admitt this did get me there.
So much to the point of just saying it isn't worth it.
I'm sure there's better TD's out there. And even though i've been around events for a few years i've accepted the fact that i'm just not very good at it.Yeah I can raise the dollars and get things fired up OK but overall it's taking it's toll on me.(Both physically and mentally)
I guess what i'm tryin to say in a nuttshell is i'm done.I'm just not cut out for this anymore.Alma isn't going to change as far as the upkeep and all anyway so why even host events there.
Alma was going to be my baby. The only one I ran.But in light of all this chaos and the condition of Almas course i've decided to just play golf and leave the rest up to those who still have the desire to keep the ball rolling.
Sorry Evan and Willie.I guess i'll call you guys later about this.
See you all on the course someday. And i'll just leave it all at that.
It's been fun gang.Take care.

Jake started it just kidding. I'm totally guilty of stirring the pot. I hope you reconsider, Pitch. Your a good TD who produces payouts like I've never seen. I took the blame for the Team Challenge, anybody who is upset about that can blame me and I will accept it.

Everyone in the RV!! We're going on a GUILT TRIP!!!
