Disc Golf Values has more of the bar and football stamp champion destroyers for sale in the collectable section. Too bad they're $100 a pop.

Yeah, Im not pleased with that. I talked to Mark before and after he put those on the web originally, and got bumped with 6 in my cart. He basically said "Tough [censored]", when he couldve just charged me double for having to pull them out of his personal collection. I wouldve totally understood, and might still have bought them. I dont think Ive bought anything off him since we opened the store anyways, so that also may have something to do with it. Oh well, Im not overly impressed with this disc anyways, and probably wont be throwing them anymore.

I have a problem with this thing. I keep throwing it about 50' farther than the basket. This thing bombs. It is pretty sick.

I'd agree with that statement I have to throttle back a little otherwise I'm past the basket. hehe

i like my star destroyers,i have 4 different weights for different situations and wind conditions. i think they are very dependable, i use them for sidearm only and i throw them with confidence. they are more dependable than my star teerexes. i have no problem keeping them in the fairway

everyone please quit hyping the destroyer up so much. everyone and they're grandmother tells me all these crazy things about them. it's just a high speed driver. i'm seriously tired of seeing so many people throwing crazy fast drivers off the tee, especially for technical shots. throw a roc or a tee-bird.

I can throw a Teebird 410 feet. Just because I can doesn't mean I should always try to amp my arm up and do it. I can slow down my arm speed and get a smoother and more accurate 410 with a Destroyer. Why shouldn't I do it?

i'm just extremely tired of people approaching me and basically snubbing me for not throwing a destroyer. it's not that special. the fact that people are making such a huge deal about buying and selling champ and star ones is just stupid. who really cares? sure, i can accept that it's a newer, faster flying disc but people have been so pushy with it lately that i'm ready to buy a stack of champ destroyers and burn them in a pile.

I was the same way with the wraith. never liked them. At the first tourny I played after their release, I think I was the only player not throwing them. I would step up to a 360-400 ft hole toss my Teebird and usually be within 20 ft of the basket. It would take a while to get there and the guys on my card would ask what I threw and I would say a good ol Teebird and it freaked them out abit because it wasn't a wraith.
All that being said, I really do like the destroyers. the almost have the teebird flight with the extra speed and a stronger finish. I don't preach them by any means, but I do recommend them to people who have the power for them that haven't tried them yet. |

I don't think anyone is trying to "over hype" the Destroyer. Hype happens whenever a new product comes out (see Gateway thread, lol) ... and often when there isn't even much to talk about.
I thought the Destroyer might be one such product, what with the release of the Wraith and TeeRex. But this is not the case. The Destroyer is a great product, it's very fast, and very reliable, and IMO worth some hype for awhile. I agree that a lot of players "should" be throwing Rocs and Teebirds off the tee. Well, welcome to America! Thank God we are free to throw what we want. Next time you see some newb or weenie arm throwing a Destroyer off the tee when it's not the best disc for him ... Suggest he throw something better for his level of play. We're not the disc police.

If you don't want to hear about the Destroyer, why are you reading and posting on a thread created solely to talk about that disc?
BTW...Where does the Destroyer fit in with the Wraith/Wraith-X/Teerex/Teerex-x/etc.

before any of these posts were made, i threw a destroyer at sander's ferry park in tennessee. i'm pretty sure that it was hole 16, whatever the case, i threw a really lightweight champ destroyer off the 400 foot hole and went at least 150 long into the LAKE...realizing that this disc cost my friend significantly more than any other disc my he had ever purchased, he claimed that i had done it on purpose and i was forced to hitchhike 65 miles home to bowling green, ky. is that a justified reason for DESPISING it??? where were any of you when i had to ride in the back of that truck with all the pigs and hay? i smelled for weeks and i haven't played since. thanks destroyer, for destroying my life...

disregard the most recent posts made under my name to the forums. coincidentally, i was bored very early this morning before classes and happened to log on and find a bunch of ridiculous posts that i really don't remember having anything to do with. someone has ninja'd my account or something, but i changed the pw. that last bit about throwing into the lake is kind of funny though. i'll leave it. lol.

I have been outbid on several lately , but still looking for unique and different color blends. I have also been throwing the Second Run Star versions and they are just as awesome and a bit cheaper in cost !!!! I think you can get them for around $13.00 - $ 16.00 or so. http://www.dtworld.com/Prototype_Sta.../g101-star.htm OR : https://www.discgolfvalues.com/store...oduct=ST_DSTst OR : https://www.discgolfvalues.com/store...roduct=ST_DSTR You may also want to throw the New Pro-Destroyer when it becomes available. I received one in my U.S. Masters player package !!! It's pretty sweet flying too !!!!! I can't wait to throw the DX-version when it comes out of production !!!! I'm sure that will be Super Fast as well !!!!! Thanks, Big-Time Destroyer Fan, Donny Olow www.sandiegoaces.com DonnyOtime@yahoo.com |

Another Destroyer Story,
At 2:35pm on 09/27/2007 I stepped up to the #4 short tee at oak park in Wichita, KS and threw my orange 175 destroyer. Halfway down the fairway i said OHSH*T and just watched it sail into a perfect fade. Then there was a cloud of dust from it hitting the dirt and straight into the basket. The crazy part was that I was leaving the park going to play Valley Center and then some friends pulled up so I stayed and played with them. They are just casuals so no 50to1 from them, but I did get 3 autographs on my destroyer. Does anybody know of any other aces with a destroyer? |
