Me and Jerry played so ridiculously bad, how the heck did we cash??? It was ugly the whole round. I think Jerry missed at least 5 putts within 20 feet. I don't really remember what I did bad, but I know it was bad.........oh yeah the double circle 6 or 7 was pretty bad on 18.

* White tee ~ doubles record

The October monthly was good fun as we contested our regularly scheduled singles round in the morning and then conducted a "Learn to play Disc Golf" clinic in the afternoon. About ten people showed up for the clinic (including one park ranger) where these beginners learned tips on putting, approaching and driving. Thanks to everyone who helped out with the demonstrations. I will be scheduling more clinics next year during the warmer months of spring and/or summer.

While the clinic was being held, a group of golfers challenged each other to the first ever random doubles round from the white tees. Please note that at the time of posting scores, I did not have the white tee distances to include in the spread sheet above. I can tell you, however, we now have an "official" white tee doubles record......posted by the team of Mike Hoeg and Sid Olcott! Good shooting, guys!

Nobody carded an eagle during the morning round (though we did see a couple of bald eagles before the round began), so the Eagle Pot is now up to $67! Additionally, the tee pad fund continues to grow as $2 of every entry goes toward this much needed course improvement. Thanks again for everyone's support. The next Moraine Monthly is scheduled for Saturday, November 10. We hope to see you then.

The bald eagles have been so amazing lately out there.

FYI, the park gate is closed for the winter, so now you have to start on hole 5.

I know what you mean, but technically, you can still start anywhere you want. If someone wants to walk down and start on hole#1 they are very much still free to do so. We have in the past.

From a matter of convenience, since the gate is locked, it is preferable to begin play on either hole#5 or hole#6. We have done both in the past.

Hole 12 is closer to the road than either of those two holes....

I don't know about that Jerry?? Maybe the Gold tee, but I'm guessing that 5 is by far the closest tee.

But either way, I'm starting on 17 from now on.

I'm going to start on Hole #8 just because I can.
Anyway, how about Mike Bachman, this was the first time playing Moraine and he shot a 63. He had one of the best left handed sidearms i've seen.

If you are thinking of the area where we usually park as a group (during the monthlies), then hole 5 would be the closest tee. Outside the monthly, if you park further down the road, directly across from hole 12, that blue tee is definitely a shorter walk than hole 5........I did it just yesterday.

Twenty golfers showed up for the November monthly, thus, another $40 was raised toward the tee pad fund. No eagles were carded during the morning round so the Eagle Pot will start at $81 for the December 1 monthly. Lastly, congratulations to Chris Deitzel & Josh Arnette who shot a smokin'-hot doubles round of 46 from the white tees. That's a course record which will probably stick around for a long, long time. Good shootin', fellas...

I have to admit that i'm the most inconsistent player around. I shoot in the high 70ies, then under par, then right back to the high 70ies.

Bottom Line...I have problems.

I dedicated this round to Evil Knievel. That was all the motivation I needed. I think it's pretty funny how I can shoot a 77 one month then a 63 the next. The one thing that i changed was my run up, or the lack of doing one. I'll never use a run up again at Moraine.

LOL! after reading your luck on 18 I remembered my #18.

Tee-shot... middle of the creek. Drop zone shot... the next OB behind the basket. Missed the putt and it nearly rolled back into the OB again. The guys on my card were dying laughing at me. Great times!

Beautiful day at Moraine today. I believe we had 16 open players. Players from Ohio and West Virginia showed up. My 61 won the open division, Jerry 2nd with a 62 and that's all I know off hand.

36 degrees, partly sunny. Twenty-four players total, thus, another $48 raised toward tee pads for Moraine. Visiting players included two competitors from West Virginia and seven from Ohio! Nobody carded an eagle during the round so the Eagle Pot will carry over to February at $104.00!

Wow, Baby Jesus was in the hole by five strokes to Jerry in the span of two holes after taking a double bogey 7 to Jerry's birdie 4 on hole#6, and bogey 4 to Jerry's deuce on hole#7. Yet Deitzel still came back to win. Nice shooting!

Yeah I thought I was done for after 7, then I birdied 8 and 9, and got my head together on the back 9 to win it. Jerry almost tied me on hole 2 when I found the woods to the left on my drive. After contemplating the shot, my forehand roller managed to make it's way to the basket for an easy 3 and the win. Great weekend for sure.

I'd have to say that was one great Monthly turn out. I was amazed to see the Ohio and West By God folk show up.
