Looks like it will be much cooler in Tarentum on Saturday, thank goodness, with a high of only 82° F but with a slight chance of showers.

Good luck to all those playing in the BHMO!

Yea, I'm planning on arriving around 10:30 so that we can start by 10:45 or so. Looks like we got at least a foursome, so that works for me!

Yesterday sure was a nice day! I wish I could have played Deer Lakes! How was the course after Friday's rainstorms?

The course looked fantastic considering the deluge we received on Friday afternoon. The weather was perfect, and it was nice seeing old friends again and making new ones. While I'm sure we all could have played better golf, a good time was had by all. Sid blazed the front nine with a 28 to Sandalbagger's 31, but Chris came on strong on the back nine to claim his third consecutive LaGrassa Open title. Some memorable shots included Sid taking a birdie 4 on hole#3c, Chris hitting the pole on #5 on his drive, me taking a birdie 3 on hole#10c (my first ever on this pin position) & Chris birdieing holes 11b,12a, 14c & 15b.

Winners of both the Pro and Am divisions received a new DX disc and an empty Church Brew Works growler (a $4 value!) to be filled with their favorite suds at da Burgh's finest microbrewery. I got to play the new concrete tees at Deer Lakes and also purchased a CFR fundraiser Katana in my favorite weight and supported the PFDO. Couldn't ask for more!

Open
61 ~ Chris Deitzel
62 ~ Sid Olcott
63 ~ Dave Olcott
66 ~ The Mullet

(white tees)

Advanced
65 ~ Mark Prestopnik
68 ~ Scott Hartle
72 ~ Stella

(white tees)

Conditions: Sunny and temps in the low 80s

Thumbs up Next LaGrassa Open Saturday Nov. 20th?

So I'm coming out for the Steelers game vs. da Raiders the weekend of Nov. 20th-21st and I see that nothing is on the PFDS Calendar for Saturday.

I'd love for you to join me at Deer Lakes on Sat. 11/20. I'll arrive right around high noon and we'll get started shortly thereafter.

Is this event still on for Saturday? I'd like to meet the man behind the Geocities page that so captivated me ten years ago

Jeff,

I just now realized I scheduled a work day at Moraine this Saturday, November 20. The Fly Pad for hole 7 was delivered to Moraine this week, thus, we need to get that tee pad installed and I am hoping we can do some leaf removal on a couple of holes. Just yesterday I sent out a call for volunteers without looking at the calendar. Sorry about that.

Have fun at Deer Lakes. I'll be working at MSP and hopefully pulling a lot of club members north to Portersville.

Exclamation LaGrassa Open canceled

That's okay Jerry, the course work is far more important anyway.

My wife is meeting her cousin and their new baby near Deer Lakes on Saturday. While I still plan to play a casual round around noon at Deer Lakes, I would urge all PFDS members and local disc golfers to help out with the efforts at Moraine. The more people they have there, the faster the tee pad installation and leaf removal will go.

So I'm coming out to Pittsburgh this weekend for a concert tomorrow (Sat.) night in Millvale. I see that nothing is on the PFDS Calendar this weekend.

I'd love to meet someone for a round at Deer Lakes tomorrow or on Sunday around noon. Lemme know!

All in good fun, gotcha...but the Texan is well known for avoiding the snow & cold weather.
