Default Festivus: A Festival for the Rest of Us

Had anyone else noticed how much the "Festivus Pole" looks like an unfinished pole hole? Maybe this holiday needs adopting by disc golfers?

This my favorite fact:

A 2004 episode of Jeopardy! had a Seinfeld-themed round, featuring a category entitled Festivus, in which contestants answered questions about holidays. Incidentally, this was the final episode in which long-time champion Ken Jennings played, until returning for the Ultimate Tournament of Champions.

The Willamette Disc Golf Club in sunny Corvalis, Oregon has an annual non-sanctioned Festivus For The Rest of Us tournament.

This January 27th will be the 6th annual Festivus Tournament. This is the funnest tourney I have ever been to. Copious amounts of beer and chili along with the mandatory feats of strength. Good times

Man, I am seeing some fun times where you put up the portable without the basket and chains for Festivus, then you put on the chains and basket, and throw on some branches, lights, and bulbs, and you have fleshed out a disc golf Christmas tree.

Maybe we need a PDGA competition next year for the best holiday-decorated pole hole.

If anyone does it this year, please post a photo here.

I appreciate the rep. for CORVALLIS, but just make sure you spell it right

I know we're only 50,000 strong, but we have a loving DG community. As for the toruney, I have yet to play one, but everyone I've talked to said it was most enjoyable. Aside from the rain and the cold. But if you live in Oregon and have DG Addict Syndrome, you're used to it.

Peace - Brandon
