Default 2nd First Run Buzzz

Discraft will be releasing the 2nd First Run Buzzz for the benefit of The Players Cup '06! This limited production second coming uses the original modified Wasp mold and is produced with the same marbled, pearlescent plastic that the original First Runs were famous for. In addition, each disc will be accompanied with a laminated certificate of authenticity and a full production schedule (colors, weights, etc.) will be released shortly.

I will have a limited amount available at Pro Worlds in Augusta and will start taking pre-orders through the Sun King Disc Sports website within the next 48 hours. The price through Discraft and SportDiscs.com will be $25 for the Blue and Green. Sun King Disc Sports will offer a special package deal that includes a limited edition SuperCOLOR Mini with each Buzzz ordered and will also be the only place to get the White/Clear 2FR Buzzz.

I know I'll be grabbing a few of these to keep my stash of First Runs as new and unthrown!

Thanks!

Mike Barnett

That is hilarious.

edit: But it's true, one cannot tell the difference between a real first run and these. I wonder if the stamp will change??

There *should* be a way of telling the TRUE 1st runs apart from 2nd 1st runs......... In the meantime, i'll add this to my list of growing oxymorons..... jumbo shrimp, plastic glass, idiot savant, down escalator, and now 2nd 1st runs.

Keith? Mike? Bueller?

The hotstamp is similar to the original but clearly denotes these as fundraisers for The Players Cup '06.

The idea behind the name was more of a reference point to what the first runs were; made using the modified Wasp mold with a pearl/marbled Z material, most of which were flat on top. In other words, saying "first run" now automatically references the three aforementioned qualities.

As we know, the Buzzz now has its own mold and the material can change slightly from run to run and in some cases the dome has been more noticeable. So this title more references the characteristics than anything else.

What's in a name anyway?

I got a chance to throw a few of these yesterday and they do fly EXACTLY like the 1st Runs..........They are flat on top and extremely stable and by stable I mean straight at just about all speeds!!! I dont know if they quite nailed the plastic but its pretty darn close and I myself will be looking to pick some up as well!!! Cant wait to put some of these in the bag!!! Thank you Discraft for again giving the players what they want and have been asking for!!!

This is just kind of an opinion:

I feel that this is exactly what Discraft and the Player's Cup need to become competitive with the USDGC. One key to the USDGC, among many others, is the Champion Roc. They raise like $25,000 every year! Dcraft had the Midnight Buzzz as a fundraiser, but there are problems:
1. THey are black, and hard to find. 2. They also stamped them as fundraisers for DGLO.
If Dcraft is going to put on an event on par with USDGC, they need an exclusive fundraiser. A disc everyone wants that you cannot buy without contributing to 1 tournament, exclusively: The Player's Cup. What is the most sought-after Dcraft disc? First Run Buzzz. Awesome. Congratulations Discraft, soon the Player's Cup will be at the level of USDGC. Too bad it's not in a more central location tho, I would love to try and qualify at the Red Hawk Am Champs.

IMO selling a "2nd 1st Run" Buzz is in no way gonna make the Players Cup compete with the USDGC, it's going to take a little more than that.

The name needs to go, how about "Retro 1st Run Buzz", 2nd 1st just sounds stuipd IMO.

Just an FYI, The Players Cup wasn't created or designed to compete against the USDGC. Disc golf will not survive, at least not in a healthy state, if it is constantly divided and forced to compete against itself. It's primary function was to offer a world class event with world class players at a world class facility. We feel that we have the best facility that currently exists in our sport and I believe the players opinions support that statement.

If anything, The Players Cup compliments the USDGC and offers the players another Major event which helps expand awareness of disc golf. We are excited that we will more than likely maintain our goal of having the 3rd largest payout of the year and it will be our first year as a PDGA Major.

So support disc golf and buy a 2nd First Run Buzzz.

I will post pics and purchase links later this evening.

Thanks!

I definately should have not used the word "competitive". I was trying to express that this will put TPC on the same level as USDGC. Complimenting {thanks Mike}, not competing.
