I dont have a Blurr. I am throwing the Raging Inferno( both versions- ) this morning though, along with the E- DEMON. I think I will be throwing the newest Blurr. Pat has a few different for me to try.

They are definitely a bit understable now. The proto orange one is really flippy. I can just about roll it now. The pink one does a nice s-curve.

Well, I must have gotten a few of the more stable Blurrs. Because the 2 I am throwing are flying nicely into headwinds, and It was pretty brisk out there this weekend too. Steady 10-15 mph with gusts up to 20. I would compare it to a T-Rex. Bottom line is this disc is a perfect fit right between the Spirit and Inferno. Keep em' coming Dave!

I find that I need a disc in between the blurr and the inferno... the raging inferno seems like it will be what I want, the S illusion is working in that spot right now though

Hmm so what is going on with the: raging inferno, Scorcher, and the backbone. Seem like some sweet discs. I know one disc that I'm looking forward to is the beadless wizard, should be great for jump putts and low ceiling putts.

mm magic, those discs are on the questat.com website. They sound like good compliments to the inferno, and the backbone is a middie it seems.

backbone is supposed to be a roclike mid-range disc.
Similar to a one pice version of the control driver. |

So how will the backbone differ from the ElementX? Slower? More glide? The ELX already has tons of control, and I'm curious if the backbone would make it into my bag.

Well thats a great question and until I actually throw the discs wontreally be able to give an educated answer.
What looks good on paper still needs to be proven by mixing the polymers and molding the discs. People would be ammazed of if they new how you could change the flight of a disc by any one of the floowing: Temperature of plastic, Temparature of mold. Cooling time in mold. Stacking of discs ( individually upside down or right side up, One on top of another upside down or right side up) Presssure (-5 stages) speed (2-5 stages) Pack pressure: pach hold time Back pressure ( amount of resistance on barrell as it draws back) making the plastic more or less viscuss or dense. The bigggest of all isPolymer blending; I Could list and infinite unmber of combinations that could change the flight, but by now you get the picture. It is impossible to make a clone of a disc just from another disc. If 2 molds were built identical and taken to 2 different molding shops, the chances of the discs being the same stabity would amost be alomst none! |

Jared,
Have you gotten any Blurrs yet? I just ran about 200 E Rages, which is the new top for our high speed drivers, the Rgae is the Spirit wing with the new top and we still have the Speed demon DT wing that we may call the Blast-DT, not sure yet. \ We will proabably have a contest for the art for the rage, we already have something for the Blurr. Anyway we will be sending in the Rage next week. Let Justin know what you need? Hey we have an event on Friday called the turkey toss, that should have about 20 pros if you want to come up and hang out you got a place to crash. Actually there is an event called roller doubles in columbia so there could be a few events to play in! |

I got my E demons and E rages today, I only got to throw them during a glow round and in a field. They both felt great... the plastic on the pink e demon I have is awesome!

Now my question is with all these new discs being released... they do fly similar to older gateway discs that have been around a long time like the spirit... Whats the sense of the Rage if it flys pretty much like a spirit? Are these new discs going to revamp the Gateway line to give it a new boost or are all the discs still going to be produced?
I suppose its not different from what innova and discraft have been doing for years upon years but I figured I would ask the question. |

Im killing the Raging Inferno. The first Infernos I got great distance out of, but felt they lacked in consistency, and needed to much room to work fully. The Pink Raging Inferno Im throwing is not only a better feeling plastic, but is also a more stable/ overstable version ( More than even the Black Infernos. ) that is possibly the FASTEST disc Ive ever thrown. It also needs half the room to get roughly the same distance, if you can get it to flip slightly.
Im also throwing some of the longest, most reliable 2-fingers in years.

Everytime I get a new box, something new is already out! I cant keep up anymore.... I should just have Justin send me a box everytime something new is in stock! I will either get another box before the beadless wizards or just wait until the beadless wizards

I agree, the new pink discs ( temporarily caled the Raging inferno)is a really REALLY controllable fast disc. I got 3 of them to test fly and they all fly pretty different. I take it yours is a lot more beefy compared to the inferno. What discs of innovas would you campare it to or is it better than anything they have for speed, control and Distance? ( careful dave D might be watching )In my opinion the more overstable of the 3 pink discs is an improved version of the Illusion with a slightly smaller linear length of wing and less rim depth. It seems closer in comparison to the Illusion and Blurr than inferno to me. What do you think? Chase how much work have you given the new E Bluurs or E illusion in the past? Hoepfully we will be changing the name before we start selling them as we have been waiting to release the Rage( the blurr top on the Spirit wing, that we ran about a month or so ago) The combining of the names rage and inferno for a new disc, calling it the raging inferno is actually giving me a severe headache already and we have only made 20 of them so far! What about the red discs with the REAL golf ball dimples on the wing??? Have you seen or thrown them yet? |

As Pat said when he handed me the Pink version," Id compare it to a Teerex,"- ...and I also would agree...somewhat. It really depends on the Rex you were throwing. I threw Red, and they were way more beefy than some of the other colors.
I think it has the Speed of a Teerex, the control and distance of a Wraith. ( I throw the Wraith farther than the Teerex, even after the Teerex was beat in. ) I didnt mind the first Infernos, but didnt like the plastic at all. I like the more solid opaque looking plastic usaully used for Sabres and Blazes. The major differences, as I said before, are that there doesnt need to be as much space to achieve maximum distance- and its also extremely fast, faster than the original, faster probably than the Teerex. I like it alot, honest. The Red golf dimple version, not as much. I threw it for a few days, it was decently similar to the Pink non-DT version, but for me, didnt "get out there" as fast and also had a tendency to flip to late in its flight. It wouldnt flip over, but I wasnt as accurate with it as the Pink version. Maybe Im not being as fair, as I really liked the pink plastic more. The Golf DT grip, I like that alot more than the Honeycomb grip, which has never felt right in my hand. Still havent thrown the Blurr. Pats using a Pink one, but I dont really feel compelled to start using it. It seemed, to me, similar to an Orc in flight patterns, but I didnt throw it. Just watched Pat throw it about 50 times. ( Pretty much anytime he threw it, I threw the RI. ) Thats another thing I like about the RI, I can really feel free to get on top of this thing, and it hasnt yet flipped, even into a decent headwind on a 420 ft downhill hole. Both Pat and I expected it to flip and then glide back- Nope. It just held a huge line and hysered out at the end, the wind having little to no effect whatsoever. Thats pretty sweet.

Justin and I test flew the latest runs of the Rage, which is the new top of the Blurr on the Spirit wing.
This disc is not the RI, it is the new top of the blurr on Spirit wing!! This is one fast disc with not much movement left or right in the flight, especially to the right and only falls left at the very end. It has a long fast glide and is a faster cotrollable spirit that is less overstable. We also threw the red w/dimples and the pink ones today as well. Both Justin and I felt the red disc was a much better disc ( not even close)We may have a few funky Pink ones, they were a little hard to control, but the red w/dimples at 166 grams were money!!!. Chase thanks for using the acronym RI for the red w/dimples and pink discs right now? Hopefully we change the name of the discs. In my opinion it is much differnmt than an inferno and deserving of its own unique name, dont you think??? |

Hey Dave,
I just helped Dumham's Sports open up a store here in Bowling Green and I've got my store manager talking to his higher ups about getting Gateway discs. They already have a pretty big spot for disc golf in their ball golf section. Nobody sells Gateway here in town so hopefuly they will be contacting you sometime soon. Kevin -btw I just took my first cash up in Louisville

Dave or other Gateway folk,
I was just wondering in your experiences how odd it is to crack an E disc?!?! Had an E Element-X over Thanksgiving break almost split right in half...crack goes from one end of the rim almost all the way to the other rim with two smaller rips right by the crack on the center of the flight plate. It hit a tree probably 50 to 100 feet from the tee and made an odd noise and when I got up to the disc I couldn't believe it! Didn't think I was that strong and it wasn't even cold out!! Nor was it beat in all that much!!(at least I didn't think so!) Too bad it was one of my favorite discs... J
