Oh, and our fundraiser discs for Waterloo are in. They will be for sale at the mini for $20 and they look great!

A picture is on the club's website, but I'm afraid I don't know how to post it here . Could someone else please do this? Lou?

Oh... this is not the actual disc, but it is the color stamp that is on the discs. They are Elite Z Supercolor Buzzes.

Pretty cool, I can't tell for sure, but I think the writing along the side says "Mr. Olse, get to work on finishing Manor." or maybe "Pick me, Mister Tasker. Pick me."

16 players last night.

1 Jon P / Yankee Mike 41
2 Micah / Anthony 42
3 Alex / Chuck 43
3 Leon / Chris 43

The masses voted and next week the format will be random draw doubles with 9 holes alternate and 9 holes worst shot. Those guys are psycho.

Oh yeah, I drew Gordon and then I was the one that forgot how to putt. Message board kharma kicked me in the nads. We finished at 47.

Actually, I'm pretty sure the group voted for 9 holes best shot and 9 holes worst shot. Should be quite interesting.

A full round of alternating shot was my sick idea

Hey, maybe if more holes last night had been worst shot, Lou and I might have won. We birdied 2 of the three holes, and nearly birdied the third.

That would be correct. Nine holes of best shot and nine of worst shot.

Ummm, yeah, I think 9 holes of alt shot mixed with 9 of worst shot is a bit excessive!!!!! That would really reward the most balanced team! I like how the format is changing from week to week...it actually makes the south side interesting!

"...looks like I'm about 15 feet......you're 12 feet? Ok, we'll have to take mine..."

There's still plenty of 2s on the south side, even in worst shot.

Who's gonna get the worst shot ace on #9?

We had clear skies and muddy boxes for yesterday's mini.

Jon P (cali) - 45
Micah / Lou - 47
Anthony / Dan - 47
There was a pair of 49s and a pair of 50s also.

Next week we're doing 1-disc random draw doubles. It'll be best shot the whole way through but each player will have only 1 disc for the entire round.

There's going to be a lot of disc retrieving going on with this format. We should start earlier than normal....

Let's try and get started earlier this week...I hate finishing in the dark!!!! Signup until 5pm (this way we can actually tee off about 5:15 and get finished while there's some sunlight left). Whacha think?

Same as last week, Jon. Sign up 5-5:25. Draw at 5:25 and tee at 5:30. It should play quicker without playing worst shot for half the round.

What am I going to do on Thursdays now?! Please let us know when the Wimberly minis will start. I know it's kinda of short notice, but you should have a Wimberly mini the weekend before Texas Teams (Nov 11-12th). You would have a bunch of people show up to play the courses before teams....just think of the fundraising possiblities!

Just a reminder that this Sunday, December 3rd is the club’s first Winter Ranch Mini of the season: Circle R in Wimberley

And as a special treat, we will be including the 9 brand new holes first introduced for Texas Teams! Don’t miss your opportunity to play these new holes at the Ranch.

The mini will be 2 rounds of singles, all divisions

Sign Up 8:30 – 9:15 am
Tee Off 9:30 am

We’ll play each course once, with a lunch break between the rounds.

Because we are including the new 9-holes, we’ll need to start right on time in the morning, so don’t be late in getting out there.

Also, Patty Justice will be making and selling lunch that day. $5 for a sandwich and chips (and maybe some soup or something hot – not sure about that just yet). And if you remember last year, you’ll know that Patty makes a mean sandwich Just sign up and pay for lunch at the same time you sign up for the mini. She may have some extras for those who don’t order in the morning, but if so it will be first come first served.

Entry Fee
$13 per person – All Recreational & Intermediate
$18 per person – All Advanced & Pro

Acepot $2 (optional fee - ctp at the end of the day if no one hits an ace)

Green’s Fee $5 per person – All Divisions

(total fees of $20 for Rec. & Int; and $25 for Adv. & Pro)

Pick-Your-Own-Payout for the Ams.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This will also be an opportunity to renew your club membership for 2007 AND to renew your PDGA membership for 2007. Because Waterloo DGC is an Affiliate club, if you are a current club member for 2007 you can join the PDGA or renew your PDGA membership and receive a $5 discount. You can also allow take the PDGA officials test at no cost and receive a 10% discount at Discovering The World, an online disc golf vendor. (http://www.dtworld.com)

The PDGA membership forms must be submitted in bulk. If you are interested in renewing your PDGA membership through Waterloo, the form isn't yet up on the club website, but should be soon. Until then, just PM or email Lou or myself and ask for one. Just download the form, fill it out, and give it to us with your Waterloo membership renewal / joining.

The first batch of renewals will be sent to the PDGA on December 15th. The PDGA membership forms can be submitted at the Winter Ranch mini at Circle R on December 3rd or mailed to the club’s PO Box. There will be a couple of more chances to renew your PDGA membership through the club in January and February, including the Ranch Minis for those months as well as the Ice Bowl.

Checks or money orders for PDGA membership will need to be made payable to Waterloo Disc Golf Club and can be combined with your payment for Waterloo renewal fees. Please contact Lou Moreno by PM on the DISCussion Board, by email at texas_me@hotmail.com, or by phone at 389-1853 for more information on renewing PDGA membership through the Waterloo Club.

If you aren’t yet a Waterloo Club member, take advantage of the membership drives at the Winter Ranch Minis and save another $5 - $10. Player Memberships will be $15 (instead of $20) and Supporting Memberships will be $30 (instead of $40). Member sign-up forms will be available at the ranch or can be downloaded from the club’s website: www.austindiscgolf.org.

Thanks, and have a great weekend,
Gordon
