You now have to get the inspection in the county which you live. My wife tried San Antonio and they said because some counties require an emmission test you have to do it in your county that is on your drivers liscense!

engine light????? that could be anything, more than likly O2 sensor. Brake is easy I can adjust(more than likely needs back brakes). but I can adjust to pass.
That light....take it to get inspected(pay) and it will fail. but the machine will tell whats wrong. Unless its like mine and they could not retrive the codes....thens its $1100

I am not familiar with Texas law, but in California if your check engine light is on it is an automatic fail. See if there is a testing place that says you will pass or the next test is free. This is what I did. I went, it failed, the print out said exactly what was wrong. Had it fixed and went back for the free re-test and passed.

Had to go to the dealer for a "check eng" on my wifes CRV...$90.00 for them to tell me the gas cap was not on tight. (Even though I had tightened the cap, they still had to re-set the sensor)

The reason you will never see an all eletric car, all the spark plugs, oil filters, etc Service is where the real money is made on a car.

Good luck Cware

I enjoyed playing the Texas Women's Championship last year, but I probably won't be able to make it back this year.

I think you should put in a bid for the USWDGC.

Take it by autozone and they will hood you up to the sensor and tell you what code comes up, then they will pull up your code and tell you what is wrong for free. Takes about 5 minutes.

Some times they can help. They don't know what codes are. But they can reset codes. That helps. When if gets fixed.

computer would not respond to code retrive.
new computer, new O2 sensor and output sensor.
And of course only the dealership was able to help....so quick like $1100.
I am not the only one that has gone through this

Try to disconnect battery for 5 min and see if light resets... Only takes 5 min and doesn't cost much.

Be sure to wait at least one day after resetting battery before testing. I used the battery reset technique and immediately drove to the test station. About one block from the testing place the light came back on.
