What's going on with this course in Austin is why we need to continue to improve our courses in the Williamson county area. We always going to be under this kind of scrutiny. And it's up to us as a group to get rid of this type of stereotyping. I want to encourage the new cabinet to never lose sight of these happenings and keep moving forward even when we as a club are not in 100% agreeance.

We need a few people to pull together to run the Double R FUNd raiser this Sunday afternoon @ Waterloo. All you need is a few chairs, a little candy, an ez-up (if you like shade), & a mouth (I know this club has a few mouths on it). We run a side be carnnie hole where we move the basket from the hole down the street (6 I think) on top of the table with each card that plays the hole (5 to 1 odds I think - they bet $1 for a chance to win $5 or $20 wins you $100) that they canr't land there drive compltely surrounded by concrete. All the money goes to the Ronald McDonald House (right behind the hole). It's a great time with great people. vinnie/ed miller & edman & I have run it for as long as I can remember with a little support from other club members. It'd be great for a group of you to take this & run with it so Edman & can go to Burnett with Jamie & play golf for once. Lemme know if you can pitch in & I'll give you more details - it's about a 4 hour round with set up & break down & we usually raise over $200 for RMcDH.

It is for the most part. There is two spots that it might give you a fit. Crossing from hole #2 tee to the basket is a little rough for a cart and after hole #8 tee to the basket you have to cross another creek. Other than that it is not bad at all. I just went out and played this morning. It is in good shape unless you get in the creek areas.

Sound of crickets. Wow - if we someone can't run a FUNd raiser hole for 4 hours, what's gonna happen when Edman steps off the cabinet next year... I know...sound of crickets.

Ya'll have a nice weekend. Edman & I will be at Waterloo Sunday making this club look like it actively participates in promoting the growth of the sport we all love. The Double R Disc Golf Club is not just the actions of it's 5 cabinet members - we're 180 members with 5 people doing all the work. What a load. Thanx for comin out.

Canival hole:
- Seems like very short notice to find personal - did the cabinet just decide 2 weeks ago to do this, if so my recommendation would have been not to did it
- What happens when Edman steps off cabinet - Ed and the cabinet have done a great job but I have a feeling the club will continue on no matter who steps down
- Need to understand what the club members can and can't do to promote Disc Golf and what we do well (Cabinet's responsiblity) then focus priorities around those. Me personally w/ 5 month old twins and coaching 6 year T-Ball - I am just happy to make it on Wednesday.

Just my observations... This is a great club and has done great things for Disc Golf - I think we need to focus on the positives & continue to do what we do well - whatever that is (donate plastic, $$$, Concrete T pads, etc...) and move away from the things we do poorly (finding people to give up a day) & to stop the negative press...

The concrete challenge was started by the club some years back and is nothing new. We ask every year to get support and it's no biggie that it's the same few. It's our way of giving to the tourney without taking from our club funds. We typically raise $400+ for the Ronald McDonald house, so I ask you guys why wouldn't the club want to participate? Sounds pretty selfish to me that most of you see this as anything less/more. I've got a couple of weeks left and I'm riding it out so again no worries. This club does not the few pushing it's masses it needs the masses pushing a few. Put some people on the cabinet that represent it's membership and the club will move where it should.

Looks like the club championship (bag tag challenge) will be held on November 13th. Schedule, fees, & details to come soon. For now, just mark you calendar. We know everyone will not be able to make it, but there's no perfect weekend for 80 people with tags - sorry.
