No longer need to worry about Clinten & Brians "lost bag" from last saturday. Was doing some honey doo's last night and found their bag in an empty box in the garage. Like the old man said "if you can't run with the big dogs, stay on the porch". They should have stayed on the porch. Thanks for keeping an eye out for it anyway Josh & Jon.

The 2007 COTO tournament at Pease Park in Austin is coming up rapidly (less than a month, yikes!). We are still seeking sponsors, so if you or someone you know or some business you know of would be able to sponsor, we’d really appreciate it. We need cash sponsorship, but we could also use merchandise and/or gift certificate sponsorship too.

Our sponsor request letter is below. Please help out Waterloo Disc Golf Club and E.D.G.E. by printing it out, taking it around, and asking folks about sponsoring. Remember, the worst anyone can do is say “no”.

Also, players don’t forget: you can register for COTO online at www.titledisc.com. This tournament usually fills up with 130-140 players, so don’t wait until the last minute.

Thanks!
Waterloo Disc Golf Club

Waterloo Disc Golf Club
PO Box 33531, Austin, Texas 78764
www.austindiscgolf.org

Dear Sponsor,

The Waterloo Disc Golf Club is proud to announce that it is hosting the 17th Annual Capital of Texas Open at Pease Park in Austin, Texas. This distinguished disc golf tournament is one of the longest running tournaments in Texas. The dates are set for May 19-20, 2007, and this year’s event will again benefit the Educational Disc Golf Experience (E.D.G.E.) as well as our local disc golf community through the Waterloo Disc Golf Club.

E.D.G.E. is an outstanding non-profit, charitable organization that provides disc golf equipment and curriculum to 3rd through 12th graders across the country. It was developed by a Two-time World Champion disc golfer and educational specialists to give schools and youth organization leaders a basis for teaching a fun, easy-to-learn, lifetime sport to young people. For more information on the E.D.G.E. program visit their website at www.edgediscgolf.org .

The Waterloo Disc Golf Club itself is a non-profit civic organization. We are here not only to support and promote the sport, but we are also all about giving back to the community. Please visit us at www.austindiscgolf.org . Thanks to past sponsorship and hard work by our volunteers, we have donated in excess of $55,000 to Ronald McDonald House, Capital Area Food Bank, E.D.G.E., Lance Armstrong Foundation, Downs Syndrome Association of Central Texas, and the Austin Parks Foundation over the last eight years. Also, thanks in part to our great sponsors of the 2005 tournament, the E.D.G.E. program has been implemented into a local school here in Central Texas. Won’t you please help enhance our local parks and our children’s education through E.D.G.E. by being a sponsor of this wonderful tournament? Sponsorship can be in the form of cash, merchandise, or a combination of the two. The different levels are:

• For a sponsorship of $200 or more: your company’s banners/signs on display in the park during the event, your logo on the official tournament shirt, your logo on the club web site, plus on a tee-box sign. This sign will be seen by all of the competitors each time that they play the course. Your name will also be added to the Sponsor List that will be displayed at the course and distributed to the players, the general public, and the media.
• For a sponsorship of $100 - $199: your logo on the club web site, a tee-box sign, and Sponsor List.
• For a sponsorship of up to $99: your name on the web site and Sponsor List.
• Sponsorships of smaller amounts will greatly be appreciated as well. All sponsors will be put on the Sponsor list.

For more information, please contact Gordon Maxim-Kelley at (512) 858-0119 (gordon@ventbird.com), Patty or Mitch Justice at (830) 392-6060 (teamjustice@ev1.net), or Roger Allen at (512) 899-2063. Please send all sponsorship to Waterloo Disc Golf Club, PO Box 33531, Austin, TX, 78764 (checks payable to Waterloo Disc Golf Club). If you wish, you can make your check payable directly to E.D.G.E. in order to get the tax benefits of a charitable donation. Thank you for your support!

Sincerely,

Patty Justice

Is that Lion's Park or South Temple Community Park? Never been to a mini there. I remember when the STCP was created about 4 years ago (?) and went there once before the teepads were put in.

Default Disc Store near Round Rock

Pardon me if I jump in off topic. A friend of mine is visiting Round Rock to play the Circle R courses. We played doubles a few years back, and he had to go back for more! Can anyone post the number address of disc golf stores nearby? He wants to pickup some Texas stamps to bring back for us all. Thanks guys.

For anyone needing windsheild repair (chips, small cracks) my bother in law Mark Crum is in town and will take care of those for you. Most insurance companys will cover the cost making it FREE to you. If interested please contact me at 784-7252 or the home # 260-2774 and leave a message and I will have Mark call you back. He leaves for home on tuesday afternoon so the repair window is small but there.

Default vote for Jon and Smitty\'s Band

following is from Jeff Hellman.

"Hello friends,

I have taken on a new challenge in managing a band here in Austin. The name of the band is Silenced. They play hard rock/grunge style of music. They are really trying to get up off the ground so all the support that you could give would be great. When registering at the famecast website make sure you un-check the box that sends you emails so you're not bothered by them anymore. This would be a great benefit the band!!!

Help Silenced win at www.famecast.com .

Go vote at www.famecast.com and check out one of our new songs "Foo Man Chu" played right here in Austin at Elysium Night Club. Its simple, fun and you can check out what you have been missing! Go to www.famecast.com and take a look at the take home if we happen to pull this one off. Tell all your friends to vote too!

So go, vote and help one of your own Austin locals win at www.famecast.com!!!!"
