Where exactly will you be? Rivery or Old Settlers? I need to know. We have a potential new member that wants to know where to show up as well.

Thanx for stepping up for Sunday's Jamie. Let's get together for dinner this week & I'll get you the merch I put together for you for payout for singles weeks. Manny is updating the schedule on the web site for you as well. Many of us will be @ Teams or Players Cup Sunday. Come out to Wimberly after the mini & show your support for the 4 Double R Teams hoping to bring the championship to ROUND ROCK. FUN HATERS!!!

Went all the way back to the 26th of Oct on this thread and can't find anywhere it says that Am payout is in merch. Maybe instead of re-iterating we should be letting everyone know. I would not have come out and spent my $10 bucks, or had a friend of mine (Kit) show up for merch payout. Who's merch are we getting paid in anyways? If the club is profiting from the merch payout, then they should not charge the dollar. Just my opinion. Anyway, I will not be attending another Double R Mini, and I am not going to renew my memebership next year. I don't feel that the club really cares to have am players in its ranks. Maybe when I get good enough to turn Pro I will come out and play again.

I think it is funny your sig says stop crying and throw. Maybe you should just do that...
That is the way the whole system works. If you want $, play pro. That is how the PDGA does it, right? |

Able Able Able.. look 7 posts up from yours at the post from Laura on Nov 15..as Nix said PROS play for $$ AMs play for merch that is the way all other club mini's that are ran in this are are done.. if you dont like it then step up get on the board and make changes.. what other ideas do you have for the club to make $ to host events?

Money is paid out as it is collected - 100% of pro buy in goes to the pro payout, 100% of the am buy in goes to the am payout.
Sunday singles weeks are (and have been off & on for a while) paid in club merchandise. Yes the club makes a small profit from paying out in merch - 100% comes back to the sport. All club funds are spent on course improvements (tee signs, tee pads, etc.), club events (powling food & parties including teams), promoting the growth of the sport (cash sponsorship for area tournaments). As for the dollar that is collected by the club for each mini it is used exactly the same way. It is the fee you pay to have an organized mini - none of this money comes to cabinet members or those willing to step up & help organize events 100% of it comes back to the sport (most directly to our club). With 2011 being the biggest year in Texas Disc Golf - Master's Cup, USWDGC, etc. - you're questioning who's proffitting off the payout... Disc Golfers & the sport of disc golf - not the club. All of this is in line with the Double R Disc Golf Club mission statement "Section 3 – Mission 3.1 The mission of the Double R Disc Golf Club is to promote growth of the sport of Disc Golf, foster competition, enhance fellowship, provide a medium for organized activities among its members, & to assist in the maintenance & addition of Disc Golf courses in Central Texas. 3.2 The name, funds, merchandise, or influence of the Club may only be used in support of this mission."

Just an fyi to the newer guys. This is done almost everywhere, and was how I got paid out when I was an am. Actually, in doubles, we had pro/am teamed up and advanced teamed up. If a pro/am team cahsed, the pro got his half in cash and the am got his half in merch. Not doing that here, just on singles days. It helps ams to get to build up a little plastic without having to buy everything he/she needs. On a big turnout day, you have the chance to get 2-4 discs for your $7 (6 to payout and 1 to club, still have shot at ctp money and ace pot money). I kinda liked it, and like i said, thats the way it is done almost everywhere. Sorry if you feel that way Abel and Manny. I hate to see it, wish you felt different and would join us. I do have Kits payout if he wants to get it. Let me know what he wants and will be sure to get it to you

I feel the need to speak up. In the past we have paid am's cash and it is a bad idea. The reason it's a bad idea is because there are people who are better than most am's that will take advantage. There lots of players in the club that play am's in pdga events and not mini's (due to the skill level at pdga events). Most am players that start winning mini's will get enough plastic that they want to play for cash ie (Blair, JD, and many others). If we pay the am's cash the baggers would have no reason the play pro and rightfully so. The Tuesday mini Abel ran was great and the pay out worked but only because the good am player's stepped up and played open as a group (as i recall). If Jd and I had played am's people would have said it was unfair (some people did say that about Larry). I feel Able is a asset to the club and hope that he will reconsider his post and continue to be a part of the club.

I've been a part of this cabinet now for about 7 years on and off, more on than off though. We have never made everyone happy or will we. It seems every time the club goes a new direction, usually in a positive we catch flack for it. Unbelievable to me that some feel this way over plastic, but it is what it is. These are the reasons we don't have more people willing to step up and donate there time to such a cause. Why would people want to do this if they are just going to get trashed publically. Everyone also has come accustom to venting there emotions on this board over the years and for some reason it has become the norm to do so. We're moving on so I hope all of do the same.

In the past, any time an event is run at the course on our Sunday rotation, the club mini is cancelled & the club ace pot is made available to curent club members during the am round of the event. There has not been cabinet discussion around this weekends event (other than between Edman & I), so I'll have a firm answer in the am.
I show the ace pot to be $95 plus the $12 from yesterday (all Jamie has included) = $107. Welcome to Dillon - member #180 - will need to get his tag to you/him (did you give him a shirt?) For the books, which Ware renewed? Thanx again for taking on Sunday Jamie - seems like things are turning around a little. Hope Edman & I can make it out to one soon.

After reviewing turn out @ Sunday minis - Rivery & Wilco had the largest draw on a regular basis. Consistency seemed to be an issue with the rotating format we used prior to this. Recomendations were made by numerous members to limit the rotation to 2 courses, so the 2 with the largest draw were selected in an effort to increase Sunday attendance over all (and that has happened since the change). Our home could always be considered for our "travler" on the 5th Sunday

not stirring the pot, but dont u play your home course every week at least once (WEd)----besides, u need practice on those courses, not getting out in open and just throwing hard, learn to hit a narrower fairway
