Default New Courses?

Are they talking about the new Wilco course in this description or is this a completely different place:

Williamson: Williamson County Brushy Creek Regional Park II (regional park) received $517,213 to acquire 37.1 acres by donation to expand and further develop Brushy Creek Regional Trail located east of the City of Cedar Park in the southern area of the county. Proposed development includes a 2.75-mile trail with creek crossing and aquatic viewing area, fishing areas, wetlands improvements, aquatic garden, water fowl feeding area, xeriscape garden, exercise station, nine-hole disc golf course, 10 benches, kiosk, interpretive signs, roadway, parking, and project acknowledgement signs

Any word from your neighbors down the road about this course:

Williamson: Leander Benbrook Ranch Park (local park) received $500,000 in matching funds for the City of Leander to acquire 40 acres by donation to develop Benbrook Ranch Park located in the north area of the city. Proposed development includes a 0.3-acre wetland dedication, 15.0-acre open space dedication, 0.94-mile multi-purpose trail, softball/baseball field, 4 soccer fields, playground, natural area, 0.4-mile nature trail, wetland garden, 4 picnic tables, skate park, disc golf course, BMX track, pavilion, open play field, xeriscape garden, interpretive signs, and irrigation.

9 hole pitch and putt is supposedly a private community course on the corner of bagdad and osage.

Vinnie, you were right. Ben Brook rules! I shot even and felt pretty **** good about it considering all the water hazards. I've submitted the course info to the PDGA so they'll add it to the directory. Is anyone planning on holding a weekly or monthly mni there? And speaking of monthly minis...when is the Wilco mini? I'm closing on my house in Cedar Park and I'm 10 minutes away from both course....talk about luck!

Someone that knows the layout should do a rough sketch on papar and I'll scan it and have it in my email for anyone that wants one. I know I need one.

Not yet, but it sounds like a great addition to the Sunday schedule. Hate to take it off the Rock another Sunday, but maybe we could make it the 4th Sunday?

1st Wilco
2nd RR
3rd Rivery or BB (how long will Rivery be clean)
4th BB or RR ??
5th RR

Sounds like a good topic - still haven't seen the course. Let's start the conversation tonight.

FYI CenTex - Ben Brook DGC is one of the best in the area. Great course design which incorporates water on 12 of the 18 holes. Very similar to Kyle DGC in design and distance with a creek running through the entire course. There is a mix of tunnel and open shots and the course actually has very little cedar (hell yeah!). I just posted the course on the PDGA Course Directory and it should be approved shortly. Here are the directions:

From Austin - take I35 North to FM1431. Turn left (west) and go to old 183. Turn right (north) on old 183 until you see the new HEB Grocery. Turn left (west) on FM2243 until Bagdad Rd. Turn right (north) on Bagdad - course is approx 2 miles on your right.

The boxes are shredded cedar and the course is a little hard to navigate - an experienced golfer should be able to make their way. Make the road trip - combine Ben Brook and Wilco into an all day affair. They're only about 12 minutes from each other.

turn right onto palmer off 1431 and you won't have to spend all day in cedar park at red lights

Ahhh, but be careful if you use this route. Parmer...err Ronald Reagan HWY will take you directly to FM2243. But once you hit old 183, 2243 ends without you knowing it. If you go straight, you go into a neighborhood. 2243 is split just like Hwy 290...you must go up old 183 (north) and turn left on old 2243 (by HEB). This is why I provided the directions like I did....

Another Question: Is there such thing as a putt putt course for disc golf? If not I just made one. Complete with alot of trees and a water hazzord. Distances range from 27 ft to 57 ft.
Course record after 10 rounds is - 2. Ace'em all pot is up to $25.00. Cost is FREE! (except MyCarroll) All holes are par 2.
So I guess I have the newest course in Texas!

They never really opened it...The course is ready to go and some lucky people got to play it over the past two weeks, but the city/county wanted to install some other items in the park before the grand opening and asked Waterloo to spread the word that the course is still closed for another couple of weeks. If you go out there, they will kindly ask you to leave. We're getting close though...
