plan is to have headquarters at lions. We will play 5th street first then lions for the afternoon round. if we have more players then holes then we will have ams play lions first then 5th. and open the opposite.

not sure yet on sanctioning as I still dont know what that will get me other then paying them $2 a head for ratings and points. Does it matter to you if it is sanctioned or not? will always listen to the players.

Doesn't matter either way. Here's some of what you might get though:
Benefits of Program: Charity Events:• $50 Sanctioning Fee • $50 Proof of Insurance (if needed) *** Application must be received a minimum of 45 days prior to the event! *** • $2 PDGA per player fee is donated to the event charity and must be matched by the event • A min. of 25% of entry fees must be donated to event charity in addition to $2 PDGA per player fee. • $10 non-current member fee is waived or may be charged by the TD and donated to the event charity along with the $2 PDGA per Player fee (matched by event) and 25% of entry fees. • Event charity must be a 501(c)(3) entity I don't know how many non-PDGA members show up, but charging them $10 or $5 and letting that go to the charity could be a good thing. A little sorry the Rivery won't get the love it did last year from your parents but I'll be willing to make the drive to Temple sanctioned or not. |

As a PDGA member, sanctioning is definitely a plus for me when looking at tournaments to play. Not to say that I wouldn't play if not sanctioned.

I'd like it to be sanctioned... an extra 2 bucks is totally worth getting the ratings and points

If I'm donating my entry fee to a good players pack then I don't care about getting a rating. But if the player pack sucks then I would rather get rated then nothing.

John - my understanding (and I could be wrong, & this may have changed) is that in order to qualify for the PDGA "Charity" program you have to have a 501c3 charity. Neither the club nor this event has a 501c3. We're looking into it as a club, but in the past the expense has outweighed the perceived benefit. With this being a no frills kind of event - in that we REALLY do give everything we can to Chance - I think a players pack would be a waste of time, $, & your closet space - I mean really how many bags of scwhag do we need each year to feel like we're getting our fair share from disc golf? Not to say I don’t want it sanctioned also – it was my only win last year…

The event can qualify under the Competition Endowment Program as long as you donate to any 501c3 charity. The club doesn't have to have 501c3 status.

the donations go to my nephews college fund so that is not a 501C3 charity.. I will see what I can do about sanctioning. but for sure there is no players packs unless someone wants to donate me a bunch of stuff to give away. Like Laura said this is a charity event that benefits my nephew who lost his father my brother over 5 years ago.

Great news Chris! Anything we need to do to get the Temple club on board with us? I've got a few e mails if you wanna get them on local sponsorship & corse prep. I'll can send an e mail if you want.
