How'd it go @ Rivery? Any ideas on gettin' her back in shape for at least a Sunday a month? She's always been a great Fall & Winter course. Even as sick as I get when I play ther, I sure love that old girl - we've worked our arses off on her in the past, be a shame to let her go by the way side like that cause of the city.

The course isnt in bad shape at all. its just so over grown! It wouldnt take much if we had a couple people with weed eaters and a mower or two... The grass is almost 4 ft in some places but the grass is really the only thing over grown. Not many trees need to be trimmed either. Most holes just need a fairway cut into them and a cleanup around some boxes.

Wilco will need to call a bee keeper, it's illegal to kill honey bees from what I understand.
Matty - I'll get a good parks contact from Edman & see if we can't get them moving again on mowing themselves. There's no good reason we should have to do all the work ourselves - on that course or any other city course. Thanx for looking into it, I'll let you know what comes of it this weekend.

PLEASE READ
i'm writting this because i care about yall. several month ago i read in the sports page that everyone that hunts in the hill country HAS been in very close proximity with a rattle snake. EVERYONE!! i went to wilco yesterday really worried about the bees that is untill hole ten. we were in the woods looking for ryan's disc when a loud profanity came out of gene in a very feminine voice. he had almost stepped on a very large rattler. when we went to look at it none of us could believe how hard it was to see. it looked exactly like the ground and it's head was a little smaller than twice the size of my big toe. didn't worry much about the bees after that. so yall be careful out there please.also stepped on a scorpion out there last week.

I assume he was also wagging his tail for you - I've seen the Texas Western Diamond Backs - non venomous - regularly @ the Rock, Wells Branch, & Moodys; but never any rattlers anywhere. I'd scream like a girl to if I almost stepped on any snake - esp. a Rattle Sanke.

Do I need to take my shot-gun out there and get us some rattlesnake taco's for saturday. It tastes just like frog, which tastes just like chicken thats been overcooked. Had some rattlesnake last year on the Quail hunt, not bad, then again, not that good either. But if it was marinated for a few days, it might be alot better. Let me know if I can be of service.
