For those of you who have flown to Disc Golf tournies before, how do you travel with your umbrella? I would hate to be with out one with the way weather is up in Flagstaff, yet I don't wanna have to buy a new one once I'm there. What should I do!?

Buy a new one at Wal-Mart and chock it up as part of the cost of the trip. They have some real nice ones for $9. Worth it considering the hassel of packing one.

Chris -
It depends on how big of an umbrella you need. I have a Tote's umbrella that folds down to about a foot long. It has about a 4' wingspan when it's open. I've taken it on every plane trip for the last 10 years. It fits nicely on the golf bag, too. Not too bulky. If you need a jumbo golf umbrella, then definately hit the Walmart. You can get a cheapo and then give it away to someone who drove to Worlds. Good luck, BTW. Make us proud! |

Another option is to check the umbrella as baggage if you have the bag allowance to do so. Be sure to put it in a cardboard box to prevent breakage.

I've always been able to carry on my umbrella.
