This is great work. Much appreciated.

If you're up to the challenge, I'd love to see something from directly above the thrower when feasible.

glad people enjoyed the footage and a big thanks to the players who were willing to be video taped.

as for the top view, i don't foresee that happening any time soon unfortunately. my shoots are sporadic and my equipment is low budget (think $200 camera and $40 capture device running into a very old, out of date computer and free editing software) as well as i'm losing my site sponsorship in the very near future

Blake,

You should do a fundraiser to sponsor the website... order discs and sell them, profit going to save the site.... heck, if the disc types/designs were right, i'd definitely buy a few to support your review site. I've consulted your site since I started playing 2-3 years ago, and I check it out every now and then....
Both discraft and innova run great deals for fundraisers for tourny's, why not run a fundraiser for the website. Many if not all of us benefit from your site, let us "sponsor" your site buy buying a few discs.

Let me know if I can help with the dollars and cents of it. That's what I'm good at....

I would buy fundraising discs, and point other DG'rs your way as well. I have benefited greatly from your site and always send new DG'rs there as well. Let us know how we can help.

How much does your site cost to run? if your web counter is correct, you've had ~85,700 visitors, which is great, but not high enough to rack up huge bandwidth costs. what are the costs other than site hosting? just asking because i love your site, and would hate to see it go...

thanks for the support so far.

at the moment, i'm busy finishing up my last semester of college (graduate in december). once i'm done i'll be thinking of ways to raise $ to pay for the site, probably in the form of disc sales (starting with discs i own and don't plan on throwing) and possibly others or some of the disc golf throwing flipbooks i brought to the worlds and usdgc.

as for site costs, there's the domain and hosting costs. while i don't get a tremendous number of hits, the throwing breakdowns and videos end up eating up a lot of bandwidth and i go through 1-2gb of transfers from dec-feb which generally peaks around 5-6gb during august or so and 3-5gb during the other months.

the site will stay going and i will pay it out of my pocket but luckily, i've had people in the disc golf community (Marty Hapner and Ron Jackson, namely) who were kind enough to cover hosting for my site for extended periods of time.

A couple of thoughts Blake, before putting in a lot of time and your own money (i.e. selling your discs) you might do a cost breakdown and ask for donations straight up. I don't know the implications of that approach but frankly the asset you provide should be worth a couple of bucks per player. The other option to consider is soliciting the PDGA. I would vote for either direct support from the PGDA or a move of your material to this site. All your materials are neutral and beneficial to all players. What a great resource to bring to the PDGA!
