Revolution Team Bag is nearly in-destructable.
Revolution wrote the book on quality when it comes to disc golf bags.

If your gonna spend 120 on a bag, why dont you just get the big $25 LIGHTNING bag and use the extra $90 on putters or put it aside for a basket or something. I've had my cheap lightning bag for almost a year and it doesn't show any signs of wear. bottle holder also easilly holds a 1L Nalgene

Quality over quantity, thats why you spend the 100 (not 120) on the revolution bag. Your lightning bag may have lasted you that long but I guaranty the the revolution bag would last longer. Its made of better, waterproof material and has more extra storage room (extra pockets). Spending 90 dollars on more discs isn't always better. Spending more time practicing is.

I got one of those $40 Lightning Bags when I got serious about disc golf. It ripped in less than 2 weeks.

Although I am a Revolution owner, there are options that I feel are better if you do not carry more than 10 discs. Lowe Alpine and Mountain Smith both make fanny packs that are huge and carry 8-10 discs and come with a shoulder strap. They both have spave for 2 nalgenes and misc gear in a small front pocket. They both are built bomb proof. Just another option if you want to spend $40.00-$60.00.

Moolie-

We have a great small sized disc golf bag called the REVOLUTION MINI Bag. It holds 8-10 discs in the main compartment, has a padded back, and an internal frame to keep the discs organized and the bag from rolling around.

The MINI Bag has a mesh utility pocket that can hold a Nalgene bottle and a zippered storage pocket for the essential extras. It has a padded shoulder strap and is MADE IN USA of durable and water resistant 500d cordura. There are exra mounting points so you can attach a pair of quadshocks if you like.

The REVOLUTION MINI Bag is designed by disc golfers for disc golf. Our materials and construction are unmatched. REVOLUTION Disc Golf supports players and events around the country. There are seven colors to choose from and a price tag of $40.

Not sure how you can beat that if you're looking for a smaller capacity DG-specific bag!

The Gateway Starter bag is a great choice if you don't want to carry much. It's tough, waterproof, and a steal at $20. You don't get much in the way of frills, but between the bottle-holder, the putter pouch, the zip pocket, and the mesh scorecard/mini pocket, you can carry pretty much everything you need. I use a cheap carabiner to attach my towel to the strap. I think the Gateway site lists the Starter bag's capacity as 6-7 discs, but I've had no problem carrying 9, and you can cram in up to 11. Gateway was selling a Starter bag, Wizard, and Sabre package for $30, including shipping, for a while. Most people will probably want more capacity for tournaments, but if you're looking for quality, simplicity, and value, I strongly recommend the Gateway Starter bag.

No, I don't work for Gateway.

Dave
is there any way to get the exterior matle bottle holder for the Texas bag. I have a team bag and would like the bigger holder. There is a great outdoor store in Mpls that could do the sewing if I could get the material.

I also had a large lightning bag that ripped on me the first season I used it. Most of the people I know that had Lightning bags had the same expierence. I have had my Revoulution bag for 3 years and it is still going strong. The internal frame is getting beat do they sell replacement frames?
Get a Revolution you won't be dissapointed

Moolie-

I don't have material myself but you can often get Cordura in a variety of weights from fabric stores. Here in the DC area, there's a place called G Street Fabrics that carries a good selection of outdoor-style materials.

If the outdoor store sews stuff regularly, they might have access to the cordura and foam that would be required to add another bottle holder to your TEAM Bag.

Also, I'll see what we can do about creating an add-on bottle holder. Maybe we can create something that attaches using the small utility pocket next to the water bottle holder. Might be a nice option for anyone who want to carry two bottles...

Thanks,

-Dave

Brookep-

Replacement frame parts as well as whole frames are definitely available for your TEAM Bag. Give me a call or email and we'll figure out what you need.

Also, know that you can throw your bag in the washing machine and they come out looking like new. Wash it by itself and then hang dry it overnight. Don't forget to take your discs out!

You don't have to specifically order an internal frame, you can cut the cost by going to your local hardware store, Home Depot, Lowes... and purchase a wooden dowel rod (get a thick one). Cut two pieces to length and screw the end boards of the frame back on the rods with 2" wood screws (drill pilot holes first). As a matter of fact anyone could build their own homemade frame that way if their bag did not have one.

And I plan on doing just that. Right after I complete my build-at-home shoe rack, finally hang that wall mirror that's been leaning up against the wall for the past 2 years, re-pot 3 plants, re-paint my bathroom ceiling, re-finish my parkay wood floors, make some curtains to cover up my blinds... Never mind - I think I'll just order a new one

People seem to be very satisfied with the Revolution bags. From what I understand, the Club Bag is usually more than adequate, but if you have the money the Team Bag is more fun.

I'm planning on picking up a Club Bag as soon as I can scrounge together a few bucks.

I am enjoying the hell out of my Texas team bag, and I don't even live in Texas. So, perhaps we should refer to it as the Oregon team bag? Anyways, the thing is built like a tank. You can tell that whoever made this bag was sick of lesser bags coming apart. It's overbuilt. (and I mean that in a good way).

Revolution Club Bag. $55. Internal Frame. Holds more discs than you need. Nice and Tough. Throw in the Quadshocks for $40 and you get bag and shocks for the same price as the team bag. Unless you're carrying mating feral cats around in it it should be tough enough.

I had a first run Gateway bag. It was fine except I didn't like the pocket situation. There was no loop for the towel to clip to and no pocket for a water bottle. I believe that most if not all of these problems have been fixed.

However, when I went to replace the bag, I chose a Revloution club bag. I chose it because of their reputation for a quality bag and the price. The club bag does hold more discs than I ever use. This means I have plenty of space for an extra towel inside the bag along with an extra drink bottle or snacks. The side pocket are large enough to carry all of the other stuff I tote around. It also has a rain fly that you can cover the opening and snap shut. I'm very pleased with the quality of this bag. It also came in purple.

Try the baby Revolution bag. Holds about 12-13 discs. Real lite too.

Good choice Anita! I decided on the Texas Team Bag after trying the several different bags. The Quality of the bags are outstanding. You get what you pay for. I definitely like the larger water bottle holder on the Texas Team bag.

See ya at ACTA in August, can't make it to the SCSO.
