Thank you PDGA for adding the feature of providing a number showing how many players in each division. Very helpful!!

Perhaps next improvement to consider might be showing the place players are currently in while a tournament is underway and early round scores are posted. Any chance for that Steve? (BTW, good luck at the Fling.)

The place next to the players name is exactly what I was thinking too. If that's not overwhelming to do it would be great. The way I've been playing I can loose count before I get to my name to see how I finished.

Thank you for programming so many small but cool improvements to the stats area. Do you think you could create a complete process for doubles tournaments? The pre-tournament display of pre-reg, the TD report and the unofficial results for doubles don't really work very well when using the singles template.

Steve, is it possible to go back to the way you guys used to post official results for tourneys, where you posted them every week as you processed the TD Reports? This year you switched to only updating the unofficial results to official when each ratings update comes out.
I ask because I calculate SoCal Series points for the SCDGA based on official PDGA results, and there are long waits between updates with your new process. Thanks for considering it.

![]() My problem is that unofficial results frequently contain errors when the TD or helper rushes to upload the results that the players clamor for. Then I'd have to re-do the SoCal points with the official results. If only every SoCal player were a PDGA member, then my macros and formulae would make it a trivial exercise. Unfortunately I have to manually look up a bunch of SoCal memberships, depending on the tourney. But then again, all of that is my problem.

What are the chances of inserting a players pix next to hi name on the Profile page?

Since we are working on the wish list...I've thought of this before, but a thread on DGCR reminded me about it. It would be nice to be able to look up a player and see not only official results, but what tournaments a player is pre-registered for. This way someone could see where their favorite player might be playing near them.

I think titles and distinctions would be a great addition to a players page.
When I see Climo, I want to see 12X World champ, 5X US Champ, 2012 Masters Champ X time PDGA player of the year. Or when you look at a PDGA board member or State coordinator or something like that, that distinction.

Steve, excellent job on the recent improvements!
![]() Currently the Ratings Detail page shows all the round ratings in the timeframe that might go into a player's current rating. The Ratings History page shows all of a player's past player ratings. Another suggestion I have is: a complete "Ratings Detail/History" on the player pages. I'd like to be able to see all of a player's past round ratings on one page. I think it would look something like the current Ratings Detail page, with the addition of the player's player rating at the time the round was played, and, obviously, all of their rounds played. Sortable columns would be useful there. You could then quickly see a list of a player's all-time best (or worst) rounds. This wouldn't necessarily have to be a new page, it might just be an enhancement to the current Ratings Detail page. Thanks! |

If you're like Rhett and you want to see the Official Results as soon as they're available prior to the next ratings update, just append '/official' to the end of the URL. Example: Unofficial Results http://www.pdga.com/tournament_results/78334 Official Results http://www.pdga.com/tournament_results/78334/official If you append '/official' to the end of a URL and the results still say 'Unofficial Results' that means the results have not been officially processed yet. |

Steve, do you have any visibility into whether or not the availability of this tool will change the existing process where the membership spreadsheet is delivered to TDs the week of their event? This tool should be great when handling pre-reg before the event, but the morning of the event I'm taking registrations off-line and need to be able to do these checks off-line. I don't have net access again until the event is over.
btw I really like the way you handled the results unofficial/official-pending/official dilemma. Good job.

Currently, I have my laptop with me at an event and import the data into a spreadsheet so that I can do automatic lookups. As I add a player to the TD report by their PDGA #, Their name, membership status and ratings/age eligibility is instantly filled in. (I know I have shared these tools with you before.) If I have to manually look up this information in a PDF, it will slow down registration. There are other TDs in our area that are doing something similar so I know I am not the only one.
From an office point of view, how would generation of a PDF save time over generating a spreadsheet? I don't really care if the data is in Excel or a CSV file, but I don't want to have to scrape the data out of a PDF and transform it into something usable in Excel. What if there was an option in the Tournament Manager to generate and download a membership csv file for the event? This would off-load the office staff, but still allow me to do day-of tournament registration off-line. btw Since I don't have a current event pending, is there a way I can do a test event with the new tournament manager? I'd like to see what you've done. Send me a PM if this is possible.

Yep. This is definitely doable but it would just be the same data that the Players page generates. Would that work for you? |

I don't think that page has all of the fields that were in the spreadsheet. Furthermore the player page won't show the ratings of non-current players. As a TD, I need the ratings of non-current players to make sure they are in the correct division. The spreadsheet as currently delivered has these fields:
Current First Last PDGA State Birthdate Div Rating RatingDate The fields I need are PDGA# First Last Current Div Rating I only need the BirthDate if the coding for MS1s has not been fixed in the database. When the the spreadsheet is delivered, I get my state plus the surrounding states. That is helpful since we usually draw players from three other states at our bigger events.

Just wanted to chime in to say I'm in the same boat as krupicka, using a spreadsheet into which I import the membership file I'm sent by the PDGA. So he's definitely not alone in preferring the data be available in an Excel or CSV format. A way to do that through the tournament manager would be great.
Even better would be the ability to choose the states/regions from which the member info gets pulled. Info for 3-4 states might work for krupicka out in the midwest, but up here in the northeast, we're pulling players from 7-8+ states for the bigger events. One generic range might not work for everyone. While I do usually have internet access from tournament central, so I could operate solely out of the Tournament Manager, our events are often NEFA-sanctioned as well as PDGA, so my spreadsheet is checking for NEFA membership info as well. It would certainly be preferable to keep using the all-in-one option. |
