For anyone who doesn't know Gregg is moving to Boston in about a week and Saturday at the Ben Geren Mini may be his last mini here for a while. So everyone go play the mini Saturday

Also Records were broke last night at Tilles Park! My card, 3 teams, star Birdie on hole 9. The real news though, James Perry and Cesar Valdez Shot the new and maybe unbeatable course record with a score of 36! That's (-18), a Birdie on every hole. Basically a perfect round, both of them had some huge putts and amazing drives. It was really awesome to watch!

P.S. The Ace Pot is at $65 now!

C'mon JoBee let somebody else get an Ace Pot ever so often to spread the wealth !!!!!!!!!

Had only 2 again. At the wafda meeting Monday night, we voted to combined all mini ace pots into one big ace pot. To grow the ace pot faster and hopefully bring more players to all the mini's. That makes the ace pot $300 with a cap.

So here's the deal. The Book "To promote fairness, groups shall not be less than three players, except under extenuating circumstances, as deemed necessary by the director. In cases where fewer than three players are required to play together, an official is required to accompany the group and may play as long as this does not interfere with the competing players."

Now, Tuesday night, Roger and I both wanted to play for the ace pot and agreed to pay in. Only being 2 of us, I really didn't expect one of us to hit the ace. Yet, it happened. We started on hole 6 and all it took was one throw and the same disc I aced last week, went in again! So the Question is, do I get the ace pot or will I have to hit one with at least 3 viewers Saturday?

Case Closed !!!!!! I knew combining our Ace Pot's was a bad idea !!!!

I guess the reason why Ben Geren has bigger Ace Pot's is because it doesn't have any 100 ft. shots !!!!!!!!

Maybe we need to ban our TD'S from hitting ace pots !!!!!!

Dang, I miss a meeting and looks what happens

I've never seen an official mini with only 2 players, reason being you have to have 3 so any rules infractions can be dealt with (i.e. foot fault)

I'd call it as not official for those reasons

As for combining ace pots:

I'm not opposed to combining into a "roaming ace pot", HOWEVER, their should definitely be a transition period for players to know instead of immediately (i.e. Jan 1 forward)

example:

Ben Geren Regulars on last Saturday: "How much is the ace pot?"
Answer: "$200" -
They show up this Saturday, "how much is the ace pot now" -
Answer: "$12, It got hit at Tilles last Tuesday"
Players: "When did we start doing that, that's ####, I'd of been there if I knew that"

The above figures are an example, I do not know how much the "Ben Geren Ace Pot" is

Another issue I'd see is if this is going to be a club check for payment, anyone we'd pay over $599 in a 1 year period, we would be required to issue a 1099 tax form

If we band TD's from getting ace pots, I would no longer be a TD or a wafda member. Also of all my ace pots this year, more than half were over 300 ft, including the one this tuesday. And the money I have gotten is just paying for the gas for me to drive to greenwood and tilles every week. As well as the trip to SC for the USDGC. As for the tax form, get it ready. I plan on hitting at least 2 more aces this year!

No ones banning TD's from being able to hit ace pots!

In the Match Play thread, it was mentioned that ace pot will be live

will this be for 1st round only?

what about people with byes?

what if attendance forces pools with 1 pool playing the front 9 and the other the back 9?

I'd like for the ace pot to be live, there are fairness issues I'm unsure of though
