Default New Course in Noble, OK

For those who don't already know..........there is a new course in Noble, OK just south of Norman. It has not yet been officially named that I'm aware of. The course is 18 holes (INNOVA baskets) heavily wooded with tight fairways and slight elevation changes. IMO, one of the better courses in central OK...really fun to play. We want to know what you think.

There will be a Thursday mini at 5:30 sharp. Meet in the parking lot. We are going to try and get away from a primarily open mini field, so amature divisions will be offered as well.

Directions to course coming from the north:
I-35 S to Hwy 9 E to US-77 S aka(12th) aka(Sooner) aka(Main in Noble), approx 4.5 miles, L on Maguire Rd, .5 mile course on R just before Hubbard Scool.
If more directions are needed call Jake 405-830-0222

We want your feedback. What can we do to make this a better course?.....besides the obvious(teepads, signs, etc.) Those are all in the works, but we want to make sure the course is the best it can be first.

Come play the mini or just come down on the weekend and check it out.

Stop in Noble Hardware on the way through town for Innova Champion Discs. 605 N. Main St. Noble, OK.

Thanks

We went and played the course yesterday! It was fun. Tight fairways low ceilings. You better hit your line or you will hit a bunch of trees! The course has great potiential!

A couple things that you might want to consider, holes 10 and 12 need a line to the basket! They a poke and hope holes no real fairway.

Going from basket to the next tee can be confusing sometimes, maybe mark the trees, we did some wondering looking for pads.

The last 6 holes the basket should move couple feet left or right that way you have to make your disc finish!

Hole 4 needs an actual gap to get to the basket, 2 discs were lost there and they missed the gap by no more than 5 feet!!!

**********You are absolutely right. 12 I believe is one tree away from having a defined line. 10 needs work and we have acknowledged that.

Going from basket to the next tee can be confusing sometimes, maybe mark the trees, we did some wondering looking for pads.

**********We have put yellow duct tape in the cage pointing to the direction of the next pad. We hope to carve some more trails out to help guide you to the next pad.

The last 6 holes the basket should move couple feet left or right that way you have to make your disc finish!

**********Not sure I understand what you mean?

Hole 4 needs an actual gap to get to the basket, 2 discs were lost there and they missed the gap by no more than 5 feet!!!
**********The gap on the left is supposed to get opened up a little more. I personally think the gap on the right is fairly large and more commonly played. Are you suggesting that we remove the entire middle section of rough? I think that's what makes the hole challenging.

Thanks chinki. Lets hear more!

the last 6 holes you throw the same shot with the same disc (excluding hole 18, this hole is tricky). 17s basket is in a great spot, that green will give people problems. but 13 through 16 if you move the baskets about 15 to 20 feet left or right the basket would be protected thus making the holes play harder and not a pure ace run.

hole 4 the rough in the middle is great, it makes that hole tough. but there is no way to get your disc or throw your next shot if you land in it. i think it just needs to be thinned up a bit so you wont come out of there looking like you just got attacked by an angry cat!!!

If we move 13's basket 20 ft. right it will be on the trail. Moving it left would just make it favor righties instead of lefties, unless you're thinking we should hide it behind a tree or something, I don't understand the logic?

Hole 14 is mislabled on the distance. It says 260ish. I think it plays about 350. I suppose you and Coda can throw 350 on a rope, but I can't. I do think that hole could be aced though, and perhaps it will be the first.

If we move 15 to the left, hyzer skips will be landing on 14's fairway. I don't see anything wrong with moving it right. Don't see that it would change the disc you throw though.

If we move 16 to the left, I will be too close to the pavillion. Don't have a problem with that(enter the pavillion at your own risk)lol. Moving it to the right would put you real close to 15's fairway. Moving it deeper would put you too close to 17's pad.

Don't know how familiar you are with the course Chinki, but there is very limited space. Not a lot of room for moving unless we make some major layout adjustments.

Just curious? What disc are you throwing on 13-18? I throw a side arm firebird on 13, leopard on 14, buzz on 15, panther on 16, panther on 17, and try something new on 18 about everytime.

Hope I'm not stepping on anyones toes by posting this stuff on OKC's thread? I'm a paid member and I'd like to see all of the metro areas merge in to one club at some point. I think OKCDGA is just that club.

Scott "Ace" Chronister will be taking sign ups. I have to go lay on the beach for a week in Florida sippin coronas.
