Bag Tag Challenge Information...
Members - We are planning 1 more bag tag challenge for the exisiting tags the club has sold. We are targeting May 7th and the details and location is still being finalized.

Due to loud member feedback - I would like to let the members know that your tag is still good so please have your tag w/ you when you play disc golf or be labeled Tiny :-)

If you do not have a tag and would like to play in the Challenge, we can accomiate you (speak to a cabinet member for details). We will also be ordering new tags so we can retire the existing tags - the plan is to use the new tag proceeds to help fund USWDGC in Sept.

Default Bag Tag Challenge 5/7/2011

Mark your calendars - Saturday May 7th will be the last Bag Tag Challenge for the existing tags...

When: May 7th - Signup by Noon / Tee-Off by 1PM
Where: OSP - Hole 14 pavilion
Holes: 1 Rounds of 21 holes
Cost: $15 Pro - Cash payout / $10 AM - Plastic payout

You don't have a tag? - you can still play and get paid... $10 addition entry will get you in (but no Tag).

Tag in = Tag Out / Tags distributed by overall score

---------------------------------------------------------------------------
New tags will be for sale $15 at the tourney (these are for future events) and all proceeds will go to sponsor the USWDGC in Sept.

I have a tag for sale - I'll have it Wednesday, sorry we wont be there Saturday. No it's not my tag. It's an extra tag from when Edman lost his & I got him a new one & then he found the old one. I love the paint (and flags) idea - but that's up for cabinet approval.

I'll buy the flags and get them to Vinny. This would make it cool, not just another mini. Let me know what the cabinet decides.

From what I heard (wasn't there), I don't think they were informed of the event change of venue (neither were most of the rest of us from what I've been able to find) & I understand the County was somewhat upset with their lack of notification & wanted their required 10% of sales. Hopefully this wont create issues for event promoters that are following the proper channels. We've worked very hard to improve our often strained relationship with the county & I would hate this mishap the have a negative impact for the sport.

I didn't see it here on the discusting board, on the club Face Book, the club web site (wasn't ever listed there I don't think), I didn't get an e mail (about the event or the change of location), a text, nothing. Poor communications might explain the low turn out. Maybe the reason more peeps didn't go to the wrong course is that initial communication about the Bag Tag Challenge was lacking too. We had a great turn out in January…

Info on the tag tourney was posted on this thread - check back 14 posts earlier on Apr 19th on this same page.

It's unfortunate that there was a last minute change due to the mud fest at OSP and due to Mother's Day JD was running this primary by himself.

In the future we would love proactive ideas to make things go smoother as opposed to the Monday morning armchair quarterback with all the things that we did wrong.

I didn't intend to imply the original event info wasn't posted here or Face Book - that was finally done after much confusion following the January Tag event. Club Face Book & PDGA discusting board are the only 2 places I found any info regarding this event. The event was not well publicized & therefore I deduce not well attended.

What I do intend to communicate is that the change of venues was not posted anywhere that I'm aware of (Chris said Face Book, but I didn't see it on the club Face Book page) & that the initial information was not effectively communicated utilizing all the social networking options we have available to the club.

Mike - I'm not throwing anyone under the bus. I understood the purpose of these added social tools was to offer better & more inclusive communication. That didn't seem to happen in this case.

While JD is our president & has taken the lead on a number of items (thank you), let's face it, he is not an effective electronic communicator. Not baggin JD either - at least he stepped up & tried to make something happen. It's unfortunate he did not receive the necessary support to pull it off with out a hitch.

As far as what was done "wrong" in refrence to the issue with the county - 3 current cabinet members have been on the cabinet in the recent past - including time we've delt with Wilco - & as a club member I expect the cabinet to be knowledgable of park rules & regulations when we're holding a club function at that location. If you guys don't feel well informed, or have questions, your past cabinet members are always here for consulting - just ask.

& ps - it was Monday afternoon, not Monday morning & no one ever came to the past cabinet privately to tell they what we did wrong. You all felt comfortable enough to sit back & watch it happen & throw it out in public (here) later - just keep reading back a few pages, you'll see the old posts & names attached to them

So anyway, yeah, this last one was way less planned/executed than the prior one. That prior one....wow! Hard to live up to.

Looking forward to the next one, ie the first bag tag tourny with the new tags.

Default Bag Tag Rules

Doubles:
- If every person on the card has a Tag - Card Tag Challenge is "on"
- If someone does not have a Tag - Card Tag Challenge is "Off" but be prepared to be labeled TINY if you lose

Singles:
- Tags are always in play w/ 2 or more people on the card w/ tags

TINY = Someone who leaves their Tag at home or invokes the Doubles Rule that not everyone has a tag...

Do yourself a favor and make a group decision on your 1st hole so everyone understands.

Keith - the tags have been sold state wide, so it's not a surprise that not many of the 22 players from this past Wednesday are gonna make it. I think you'll have a great turn out for the round. I think we'll be at the meeting, but can't stay for the round - already had plans that we can't move when the challenge was scheduled. I do have some donations from the Readings & I think Stef will bring something from the WTF - did I hear you're running a raffle? Do you have/need raffle tickets?

Chris asked me the same question.........I have no idea about a raffle, news to me.....unless of course someone asked me to run a raffle after the round, then all bets are off. But I really don't think I am...Thanks for the info....don't do facebook...

19 players not sure how many were pro or am.. 19x5=95 in entries. then i think 5 tags sold so 5x10= 50 in tags. not sure how much wsa raised for the raffle but JD won allot of that stuff with me winning the grand prize.

think 9 open player
1. jimmie 66 $60??? and TAG #1
2. JD 67 $???
3. blake 68??

masters 6
T1. cware and johne 74 split $60 I won the medal with ro sham bo but gave it to jimmie so each kid would get a medal..

martin ran a side ace pot for $5 and there was $75 no one hit an ace so they ctp'd and waterboy got $50 for CTP and jD $25 for 2nd closest.. beer was cold, park ranger was nice and the heat was hot.

how was the concert?
