I have a bunch of discs in black hawk. I think I am going to start buying used discs just to play with when I go to that course. I think I drop about $10 a round.
I also found Chris Hatton's orange Destroyer but called the number and the person that answered said he has moved to Washington State and didn't have a phone number for him.

nevermind, I had one of his discs that Bougher gave me, an orange pro destroyer. I carried it for about 3 days, then found out he had left. SOoooooooooo, that understable piece of crap is about 10 feet of the bank on hole 10.

Cris, don't buy used ones, just use OPD's.

Matin - I have never thrown a Hydra, but the Dragon is way too understable for me to throw. I put hyzer on it and it acts like a roller.

Centennial has had all baskets moved to the long positions, with the exception of hole 8. The course will be this way for about a week. Going to be nice out today, may be a good time to give it a run.

I think you guys utilized the elevation, trees, and burms as much as possible.
I like the sidehill baskets, but longterm this might be a cause of erosion, time would tell.
There were almost 4-6 definite par 4's, and 3-4 more par 3.5's
So the par for pros would probably be somewhere in the 58 - 60 range.

Conditions were pretty rough, strongest wind I have played in for a while.
I am sure winds were gusting to near 40.
I would like to see how this course plays in modest wind.
There is alot of opportunity for bomb rollers on this layout with lots of flat mowed ground.

1st in Pro was Coda 56
1st in Masters was me 54
Didn't hear any others...

doug said it was 33 degrees with a wind chill or 25. He said yesterday it warmed up to 65.

Any time you or anybody Wants to set up a new park or temp course. Just call, With 9 Targets on a trailer Its nothing to setup and try any where.

Kenny, while I know you put in a lot of time and hard work on the baskets, I don't feel they should be used in any sanctioned tournament or any tournament where money is at stake. They are great for a home course or even an impromptu temp set up like yesterday. But that's about it. Again, I appreciate your efforts n the R-235 70 15 design, maybe a second set of chains would help but as is, they are spittin mofo's.

Q: I would like to know the dimensions of a standard basket

A: This one surprised me, read on to see why. The basket must be no larger than 26 3/8 inches in diameter and must be at least 6 inches deep. The rim (aka, the top of the basket) must be 29 to 35 inches above the ground. If the basket has a deflection apparatus (eg., chains), it can be no wider than 28 inches.

Those are all of the rules, according to the PDGA, regarding basket sizes. There are no regulations regarding the height of the deflection apparatus. The deflection apparatus can be flexible or solid.

As Jeff Homburg, of the PDGA Rules Committee, informed me, "As you noticed, the target requirements are not very stringent, and that is on purpose, to allow for some creativity on the part of manufacturers. The rationale is to promote competition between manufacturers, with players having the ultimate choice of what targets we play on through their purchases and recommendations to park departments." Well done! Apply minimal rules to allow for maximum creativity - and in the long run, we all win.

I wonder if this approach would work with disc golf tournaments? Perhaps setting minimal rules and requirements for tournaments and letting the Tournament Director color in the tournament as they see fit would create an incentive for more well run, fun events to get PDGA sanctioning. Strip away the unnecessary rules, let TDs be creative. This would let the players decide which tournaments are best. At least the PDGA got it right with the baskets.

Kenny I believe the general sizing is just fine.

I believe what Dave was talking about was the amount of chains.
A few more chains alernating on the inside would probably do wonders for putts cutting thru... and continuing out the back.
The request is not for absolute perfection just improvement
Filling the gaps inbetween the outter chains on the inside might make them great.
We still appreciate your creative effort
