Default Tuesday Mini!!!!!!

tuesday mini

announcing the weekly tuesday mini. It will be held at san gabriel park in georgetown until northtown park opens in pflugerville. Start time will be 4:45-5:00pm.

This will be a singles format and all bag tags will be up for grabs. It will run on a 10 week schedule. Every 10 weeks we will tally up all points and there will be a bonus for the top 3 participants. The ace pot will start at $100 dollars courtesy of round rock nissan. (only club members will be eligible for $100 bonus ace pot money)

the points system will work by taking your top 5 finishes over the course of the 10 weeks. Points will also be awarded for just showing up. Therefore, if you do not win, you will still have a chance at the bonus. Here is a break down of the points.

1st place will receive 20 points

2nd place will receive 19 points

3rd place will receive 18 points

4th place will receive 17 points

5th place will receive 16 points

and so on all the way down to 1 point. (if that many people show up)

you will receive 5 points just for showing up. Your 5 best finishes will receive points, but if you show up all 10 weeks, you will receive 50 points plus your 5 best finishes. This will make it interesting, and it will make sure that everyone has a shot at the bonus, not just the pros. (only club members will be eligible for the bonus payout)

10-dollar entry fee

1 dollar to the club

2 dollars to the ace pot

5 dollars to payout

2 dollars to the bonus payout

top two spots will pay cash every week. 65% first 35% second

round rock nissan is chipping in $100 dollars toward the bonus every 10 weeks. So if we have 10 people every week for 10 weeks that is $300 in bonus money. 55% to first, 30% to second, and 15% for third. Ctp’s will payed out in merchandise every week.

1st mini will start on the 22nd of June. That is next Tuesday. We will see how the course plays out, and if we need to change it up we will. I am open to suggestions. I just want to make sure that people show up. I got my work to throw some cash to help boost attendance. Lets see if it works. Hope to see you all out there.

We will split it in to two divisions; pro and am. The weekly payout and the bonus pool. We can discuss this if anyone has any suggestions. I want to try and make this as fair for everyone as possible. Let me know if you have any input or suggestions. Abel 512 560-2444

Maybe we can make it a traveling mini, kind of like sunday. For this week it will be at San Gabe. We will talk about it tomorrow. Are you going to be ther Chris? Someone is pretty much a shoe in for the ace pot out there at San Gabe.

I will be attending Tuesday.

Finally, a mini on a night that I am not working. Looking forward to this moving to North Town (if it ever opens). Is Rivery mowed?, San Gabe, with a swim after, sounds do able for a few weeks.

Is there a expected date for North Town being available for play?

Paul said that everything finally got passed. It won't be too much longer I hope. He would probably know more than me though.

Great turn out! We had 12 players show up; 6 open and 6 ams. It is a work in progress, but for the most part I think it went well. Vinnie took the open division with a 48 and Martin was right on his tail with a 49. Larry won the Am division with a 59 and there was a tie for second with me and Steve Ellis shooting a 61. No one hit an ace so the pot grows to $124. The bonus pool is up to $62 dollars for both divisions. There are still a couple of kinks to work out, but with everyones great input I am sure we will get it figured out. Blake won both ctps. Thanks to everyone that took the time to show up. Next week might have to be at the Rivery since I might not be able to get out of work in time to get the paint on the ground at San Gabe. I will have an update later this week.

Abel,
Great job with the up date/scores. I wish more mini's would do that for us that can't make them. Would like to see all the scores for all who played if not to much.

How different is the course than it used to be? Hard to imagine scores in the 60's there

Thanks AG for all the thought and preparation that went into making this happen. The club needs more doers and less talkers. Thanks to Round Rock Nissan for their support of the ace pot and bonus pool. FYI this will still be called the San Gable mini wherever it is played in the future.

Great time, great card, great course. Able, let's see how long we'll be playing the SanGabe before we move to NorthTown. I think it'll be worth the time & paint to get the course set the way you want it - pretty sure we wont be playing NorthTown until fall at best. Might be able to find a paint sponsor & a volunteer to paint OB, islands, & mandos between now & Tuesday. Prob no need to move across the highway next week, I think we can get the course marked for you before the mini. Huge thanx to Round Rock Nissan - boyz remember to support your sponsors & be sure to mention that you're a disc golfer so they know that sponsoring disc golf pays back & they'll continue to sponsor our events & others in the area.

Speaking as one of the 67's, it was hard for me to imagine it too. Went "Tin Cup" on hole 5 and kind of lost interest in competing after that.

Fun was had, my game did not stop Larry and Steve from playing well.

Talk of paint for the OB, (that will help), and fully understanding the "island" holes should lead to lower scores next week.

i think it was lala's card when thay were tin cupping hole # 3. also on the island holes do you keep re-teeing until you hit in bounds then take your meter in from there?

Speaking as the other 67, i was on Lala's card with Abel and we all missed the PENINSULA twice on hole 3, so we reteed the third time at the top of the hill. we all got a 7 on that hole. ugly. Still had a blast. very fun course with all the mods. yes with paint and now knowing the hole layout and mandos, it will be fun again next week, i will probably still be in the 60's, but hopefully lower 60's. OR HIGH 50's. YEAH!!!

TRUE AM MANNY
