Thanks to Snapper for another great tourney. Event ran on time, Panera catered lunch was awesome, and the payout was phat. Add in just another beautiful San Diego day and you couldn't ask for more.

I am NOT feeling THAT guilty! And I must correct myself - Don Vincent beat me in round #1 on that card, but Don isn't a SoCal member, so that's how I kept the tag.

And I second Rhett's comments about the tournament - it ran on-time and smoothly, and the course was in great condition, as always. And it was great to be able to play it without massive crowds!

i would disagree...my card had to wait at least 20 minutes to play our last hole, the first safari hole (#1 to #2). waiting this long crushed my momentum and might have cost me a legitimate chance of forcing a playoff for 1st place. i had hit 7 out of 8 birdies going into that last hole, but then got iced!

anyhow, you can't blame it one single shot!...next year!!!

I agree with Aaron...1/2 and 3/4 were my last two holes, and there was a significant wait on both. Served to ice me as well, as I had birdied 2 of the last 4. Oh well, guess I shoulda played better the first round to not have to end there.

C'mon Donny, do you need to re-post this every day? And on numerous threads? And on numerous web sites (pdga, discgolfscene, dg'r'us)? Love the enthusiasm and you're getting lots of memberships, but how about once a month on the membership posts? It's making it hard to find Carl's boasts.

Been talking to alot of Folks via Emails sent directly to me.

I have been working really hard though , trying to get through to 100's of Disc Golf members to Join the San Diego Aces Disc Golf Club.

Many will Join once we have PayPal online . This is a Key piece of Data very much needed !

I have requests from Out of State and Military Personel even !!!

Not all have Internet access or limited access , but can relay the information sent to their Buddies overseas.

Depends. Some days none. Other days maybe 2 . Right now about 3-5 a week.

It has been really slow and some just don't have the money with them.

The August Morley Monthly is this Saturday, Aug 21 and the Aces will be holding a BBQ by hole 8. Come get food between rounds and after the tourney is over (for a donation to the club). We will hold the usual CTP and putting games for prizes. Past BBQs like this have been a lot of fun. Come join us!

2011 Morley Field Tournament Schedule

May 14th - Open , Advanced and Intermediate.

June 10th - Novice , Intermediate and Women . Advanced will be allowed if there is room.

July 23rd - Open , Advanced and Intermediate.

August 20th - Novice , Intermediate and Women. Advanced will be allowed if there is room.

September 10th - Open , Advanced and Intermediate.

October 8th - Novice , Intermediate and Women . Advanced will be allowed if there is room.

November 12th-13th - Morley Field Course Championship. Course will be closed to General Public.

December 3rd-4th - Morley Field Team Tournament . Course will be closed to General Public.

All monthly tournaments are 2 rounds cumulative score.
First round tee off is at 8:00 am.
Monthly tourneys are limited to first 48 players who sign up that morning.
Course is open to the general public during regular monthly tournaments.

Hey all-

I will be in town 9th-14thish?

Couple of questions and figured this would be the place to get the answers.

1) Will be staying in the "Gas Lamp District" during the week. What is the easiest way for a guy to get to the course? Don't know if we will be renting a vehicle if it can be avoided.

2) Would love to take in a league. What evening do you run it, and what is the start time.
