Also - please check your schwag stash & bring whatever you don't want. We're making a donation to SADA to help raise funds for the improvements at Searight. Discs you don't throw, tee shirts, stickers, minis, schwag from work, etc. Anything they can give to players for donations to repay the $3000 bond for the improvements. Thanx for helping grow the sport in Central Texas.

1. V / Kmay 59 $28
T2. Cware / Blair, edman/jd, LBA/andrew 61 split $33 should of been $44
The kitty was short so maybe a 1 or 2 forgot to pay so it's a wash. Club will put up $6 ctp next week.

whos got CTPs?
Lets think about:
The next two weeks play singles (very small payout)
$1 to club
$1 to ace pot$
$2 to CTPS
$1 payout
Take those scores and develope HANDCAPS for everyone, so we can play a handicap league?

thoughts?

Sounds like someone is blasphemin' again. I believe that is punishable by public stoning, and not the kind you'd enjoy
you can take that jibba jabba to another club's thread that doesn't start with Double...

My thoughts are this is a great idea and changes up the format for the good. Most pro's with am ratings that come out on Wednesday's probably won't like it. The ams that are baggers will love it I think. Now who would track the scores? It's not coming into the Coffeyshop, I can tell you that. But maybe some eager computer savy member would take the reins of it. I don't think we should do it every week. But it may be necessary to run singles for at least 3 in a row to get our handicaps established. Then we could go back to every other. I think it's cool and different, something we haven't done in a while. Now what do the rest of you lurkers think?

There is one down side of it. No more norussellnorussellnorussell chants!

or you could assign handicap strokes off ratings.

990-1000 no strokes
980-990 1 stroke
970-980 2 strokes

and so on..

Many of our members are not PDGA members & don't have ratings, so this is iffy.

I like the idea of 3 weeks of singles to establish a handicap before it's too hot for weekly singles on the Big Course - don't care about how the $5 gets paid out & not traking it myself. Then we could play singles once a month or so when the weather is good & not too windy.

My favorite long-course format/league, was 3 years ago when we played singles for 10 weeks and kept averages, throwing out best/worst rounds and averaging in the rest. Perhaps part of that was that I played alot of rounds with Ricky during that league.

I bet Chris would like the ratings handicap. How about combining it with age?

C'mon Pdub we can factor in the value of a vehicle too. 40-50,000 is 3 strokes!

We will play dubs today and see how this sits with all the regulars. The handicapp can't happen anyway if nobody steps up to handle the spreadsheet. So don't get your panties in a wad funhaters.

I like the idea of singles and I agree that someone will need to keep up with the scores and that it should not happen this week so we can let everyone know it will next week.......I can keep a spread sheet, on paper, but would be nice if someone could do it on a computer................I also agree that it should not be a everyweek thing, but it will be a nice change to the summer formats..............is it 4:20 yet?????

AS I lurk from work, while ya'll argue over golf, you could try:

Best Score Doubles but, both players play out the hole completely instead of the hole being completed as soon as the first putt/lowest score is in. Keep a Team Total and the total for each player.

That way you could still play Doubles but generate Singles scores for all players to establish thier Handicaps.

That does not solve your "who manages the spreadsheet" problem.

Good Luck, would rather be out arguing this on the course instead of in the Fab.

Did our President say we need to put a Waaaaaaaambulance in the budget? Man you thought concrete was expensive. No way we can ever afford that with a singles turnout. I say we go to the city and ask them to put a bond on the next ballot. It should help keep the crying to a minimum...if we can get them to staff it and have it run 24/7. See Ethan, sometimes everyone needs a ride home from the Poppy Festival
